Rock Creek Campground

Leggett, CA 95585, USA

4.0
Multiple campsites were available, pretty much first come first serve, I’d like to add, if you are a Californian Military Veteran, especially a disabled veteran, you need to get a Distinguished Veteran’s Pass. Or an America the Beautiful pass.We brought a truck and found a low campsite #26, just across from all the biker’s spots and bathrooms, there is an outdoor sink for dishes, bring quarters for the showers, and there are a few bathrooms too.As other’s stated there are lots of trees so basically no solar, and star gazing is not easy. Most spots have a picnic table and a small closet I’m assuming for storing food against animals. - Tyler Soares

Firstly, its prime location "in the redwoods" and "above the river" is precisely what many Californians seek for a genuine nature escape. The presence of a river adds another layer of beauty and recreational opportunity, whether it's for fishing, cooling off, or simply enjoying the soothing sounds of flowing water.

The friendly staff and well-maintained grounds contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, reinforcing the sense of community and good stewardship often found in our public parks. The natural shade from the abundant trees, while limiting stargazing and solar power, is a significant benefit on warm summer days, providing a cool and comfortable retreat.

In essence, Rock Creek Campground offers Californians an authentic, comfortable, and accessible redwood and river camping experience. It’s a place where lasting memories are made, fostering a deeper appreciation for the incredible natural wonders that define our Golden State, all within a relatively convenient drive.
