Called the place in advance, explained how many adults and children there would be, the lady answered my questions and wrote my name down for the reservation. Called about 4 days later, to check on my reservation and the lady had completely forgotten that I made a reservation. Her and her colleagues in the background laughed about the whole situation and proceeded to say "oh, you're serious, with that many children?!" Completely unprofessional to start off. But I brushed it off, I've dealt with that before, business wise, so no big deal. Got the reservation confirmed. Showed up for the Hippie Fest, which was absolutely fantastic. But everything else is a downfall. Pricing is too expensive for 2 days to camp out with a tent with my wife, mother in law, and our 5 kids. I would have added an extra 80 bucks and got more out of taking everyone to an All-Inclusive resort on the beach next to the ocean, than dealing with this bull crap. Neighboring campers were up all night, being loud, yelling past curfew, no great places to fish, no good place for kids to enjoy at least a little bit of swimming without having to enter an obstacle course to get to the water, people on a golf cart constantly watching us and observing what we and our kids were doing, too expensive for nothing at all. Showers lasted maybe about 5 minutes cause the hot water ran out. I've paid a lot less and got a lot more. Disappointed and definitely not coming back here after this. - Tyler Ratcliff

Robinson's Whitewater River Campground is located at 1614 IN-121, Connersville, IN 47331, USA. This address places it in a rural yet accessible part of Fayette County, Indiana. Connersville itself is a small city, offering basic amenities and services, and serves as a gateway to exploring the scenic Whitewater River Valley.

The campground's location on State Road 121 provides relatively straightforward access for vehicles of all sizes, including large RVs. Connersville is roughly an hour's drive from major Indiana cities like Indianapolis to the west, and also offers convenient access to parts of Ohio, including Cincinnati, to the southeast. This positioning makes it a feasible destination for weekend getaways or longer stays for a wide range of Indiana residents. The surrounding area offers opportunities for exploring local nature, including other state parks like Whitewater Memorial State Park. While the campground is situated along the Whitewater River, direct, easy access to the river for swimming or fishing might be limited in certain areas, as some reviews suggest challenges in reaching the water. Campers should plan to confirm river access points and conditions directly with the park if river-based activities are a primary focus of their visit.

Robinson's Whitewater River Campground provides a range of services designed to accommodate various camping styles, from tent sites to RV hookups. Based on available information and customer feedback, the park generally offers the following:

  • Campsite Variety: The campground offers sites for both RVs and tents. This includes full hookup sites (with 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections) and electric and water-only sites. There are approximately 59 RV sites and 59 tent sites, with RVs up to 90 feet in length generally accommodated.

  • Restroom and Shower Facilities: A bathhouse with restrooms and hot showers is available for guests. However, some past reviews have noted issues with hot water availability or shower duration, which is a point worth confirming upon arrival.

  • Laundry Facilities: Coin-operated laundry facilities are typically offered on-site, providing a convenience for campers, particularly those on longer stays.

  • Dump Station: A sanitary dump station is available for RVs.

  • Picnic Tables and Fire Rings: Most campsites are generally equipped with picnic tables and fire rings for outdoor cooking and enjoyment.

  • Playground: A playground area is available for children, offering a dedicated space for younger campers to play.

  • General Store: A general store on-site may offer basic groceries, camping supplies, and firewood for purchase, though the extent of its offerings can vary.

  • Pet-Friendly Policy: The campground generally allows pets, though campers should inquire about specific restrictions or fees. It's always best practice to keep pets leashed and clean up after them.

  • Event Hosting: The campground is known for hosting events, such as the "Hippie Fest," which can attract a large number of visitors and create a lively atmosphere.

While these services form the basis of a typical camping experience, the quality and maintenance of facilities can greatly influence overall satisfaction, as reflected in some customer feedback.

Robinson's Whitewater River Campground features several aspects that are intended to be highlights for its visitors. Based on various reports, these include:

  • Event Hosting Capabilities: The park's ability to host large-scale events like "Hippie Fest" is a significant feature, drawing in crowds and creating a festive atmosphere for those attending such gatherings. For visitors specifically coming for these events, the park serves as a convenient and central location.

  • Proximity to Whitewater River: The campground's name itself highlights its location near the Whitewater River, which historically offers opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. While direct access and quality of these activities from the campground may vary or be challenging in some spots, the river setting is a natural draw.

  • Train Rides and Rabbits (Event-Specific/Incidental): Some reviews mention "the train ride for the kids" and "bunny rabbits," which appear to be specific to certain events or general observations within the park, adding a whimsical element for families during those times.

  • Playground: The presence of a playground is a positive feature for families with children, providing a dedicated area for play.

  • Full and Partial Hookups: The availability of full hookup sites (water, electric, sewer) and electric/water sites caters to a wide range of RV types and preferences, offering convenience for modern campers.

  • Year-Round Operation: The fact that the campground is open all year provides flexibility for campers who wish to visit during off-peak seasons.

It is important for prospective visitors to note that while these features are present, some reviews indicate concerns about the overall value and condition of some amenities, particularly during peak event times.
