Jun 05, 2025 · James FrazierI’m so excited to come back here it’s such a hidden gem!! We got a last minute first come first serve site, right on the creek. Very spacious and private sites, large enough for multiple cars. Water, grill, table, and fire pit all on the site. Multiple bathrooms as well with hot showers. The ranger was so friendly, and made us feel safe being there as well. We were able to buy bundles of wood from the ranger. This is was so peaceful and beautiful!
Mar 29, 2025 · Jasmine EggerThis campground is amazing. Beautiful place that is close to great hikes. The staff is very friendly and ranger Martinez was a huge help with our campsite and got me out of a jam.
Jun 18, 2025 · Corey MckenzieWe have tent camped here for nearly 40 years. It is a nice campground but, over the last few years, the conditions and maintenance have been much less important to park personnel. Things in bathrooms are not well maintained and cleaned, tent sites are not maintained as well and it seems that the main focus is on newly formed rules and where you are parked even if it doesn't harm anything or anyone. Don't know how it compares to other state parks, but I do know that it is not as nice an environment as it was a few years ago.
Jun 21, 2025 · Bobby SmithI recommend it with all my heart❤️This is a beautiful and clean place in the wild. 15 minutes to Carvers Gap. Clean and warm toilets and showers. The parking lot has water, electricity and sewer. No more than two cars are allowed per parking lot. After 10 pm it's quiet. There is a table with a bench and a place for a fire, the grill as well. An armful of firewood costs $6 on site.🍁Autumn is a great time to visit.👆Don't forget warm clothes, these are real mountains with changeable weather.
