★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice campground at this park. Loved seeing wild burros randomly throughout the park. Roadrunner Campground has water and electric, there's a dump station, bathrooms/showers available, picnic table and fire pit at each site, and nearby walking trails. The water was disgusting at the lake, trash EVERYWHERE! So we didn't even want to go in. The Discovery Center wasn't open at all during our 3 night weekend stay, which was a bummer.
June 15 · Naomi CockburnNice clean Campground. Showers were good. Spaces are a bit close together but neighbors were polite and quiet. Easy to park the rig. The playground is a bit far away up a hill, and with over half the coverings missing doesn't seem to have been kept up. Everything else was functional though. Will come back!
May 21 · D “Speederaser” LGreat place to camp with roomy sites and hookupsI camped Mother's Day weekend, and although VERY hot, I appreciated the table, covered structure, hookups (water and electric), dump station, and view of the lake. The road through the campground was paved and very accessible. I saw everything from cars, tents, vans, every size of RV, to large motorhomes. There are dumpsters and showers.I didn't visit the playground (no kids with me this time) or Discovery Center (I had my dog), but I am a self-described Camp Potato. I like to set up and do as little as possible during MY stay. With that said, there were lots of people on the lake. Boats. Kyayks. Inflatable floaters.Just do you, and you're going to enjoy your time at the lake.I had a burro hovering above my site. My dog wasn't happy when a burro walked through our campsite or stared into my van like a creeper.I laughed and was delighted. See? Something for everyone. Can't wait to return when it's a little cooler. Loved our time there; it was just a bit warm as temps reached over 100 degrees.Appreciated the rangers cruising through to keep an eye on things. I felt very safe but not scrutinized.
May 13 · Jilly BReally nice set up with beautiful views. Love that they provide a covered picnic table and fire pit too.
May 19 · Vanessa KingSpots have better views of the lake & are mostly level with electric & water hookups. Cute wildlife like quail, lizards & birds & sometimes donkeys. There is a steep hill you can hike down to fish but not very level area to sit or stans. Very rocky uneven ledge with only a few spots to fish from at the bottom of the hill, but water seems shallow. Better to drive & find a level spot near a drop off.
