River Views Campground Reviews
If you are looking for a quiet setting with rustic charm, this is the place to be. There has been a major cleanup since the flood. There is still one area that is waterlogged, but it isn't where it impedes anything! I rent the large cottage, and I absolutely love it here. When you stay here, whether its camping with you tent or camper, you feel like part of a family! Come check it out and see for yourself! If you're looking for something fancy, this is not for you, but if it's rustic charm you are after, this is the spot to be!
Jun 09, 2025 · Robin ParisWe stayed here for 3 months and had a very good experience. The hosts are extremely helpful and the views of nature including the river really does make this place a hidden gem. Will be back if they will have us.
May 31, 2024 · Leveat RuseBeen here for the second time, both on Memorial weekend. Always have a spot. Never met anyone as nice as the folks here. Very nice getaway. Peaceful beautiful scenery and again the people are great. Have recommended this place to all my friends who want to escape the busy life to come here to just relax. This place is set up to just chill out and meet your neighbor and make new friends. We have nothing negative to say about this place. If you want an inexpensive place to go then here it is We will continue to come for years to come.
May 26, 2019 · Charlie KingWe searched for several weeks for a campground that we wanted to stay at. We went to Meadows of Dan, Hillsville, Woolwine, etc. We found many wonderful campgrounds and some we wouldn’t let our enemies stay at. We visited this campground three times asking all questions. The owner and the host were both so helpful. We stayed for three nights and decided to stay for the month. I do not want to leave and go home. We have met some of the best people at the campground and in the town of Galax. I really want to quit work and move up here now that we have stayed for a few days. We were confused above the industrial equipment scattered around the campground at first too but came to find out that the owner has a second business using the equipment. Stay away from it! Every morning when I wake up, I have the best view of the New River. I have seen many of God’s creatures while staying here. I love watching the baby squirrels, deer, baby bunnies, groundhogs, and birds. I get awakened each morning by the squirrels playing on our camper, the cawing of a crow in the tree above, or the sound of a whipper wheel in the trees. I have watched many kayakers, canoers, and swimmers enjoying the river! I have sat in my lounge chair and wasted two weeks doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Rest and relaxation is all I wanted and this campground had succeeded in providing that. This campground does not have a pool but who needs it when you have the beautiful river. Every night we enjoy sitting around the campfire and chatting about nothing. We have had the best laughs with new friends. The only thing I can say bad about this campground is the bathhouses are far from the sites. We will be using this campground again and again. Wonderful sites, wonderful people, and the view is like no other. This is not a campground for glamping. Try it! You will be hooked!
Jun 27, 2021 · Betsy HemmingsStayed here for the weekend with my troop. Great for tents and RVs. Right on the river bank!
