River Bottom Farms Family Campground Reviews
This is going to be rather long but after getting home and reflecting on our trip, I felt as though this was necessary - especially after seeing completely false reviews. After the things that transpired this weekend, I can tell you that one of the most recent negative ratings is far from the truth. I say this with confidence as my husband, my mother, my 3 children and myself were witnesses to the incident that took place. As a matter of fact, my rather young children were terrified as to how the lady (who finally got kicked out of the park) was acting because they do not generally have to witness that kind of hostility or yelling. I was actually embarrassed for the kids that the lady had with her as I am sure they were embarrassed themselves. I believe what started the incident was the fact that our neighbors (who were camping with their autistic child) was having a very hard time with their sons sensory issues because of how loud they were. After trying to deal with it for as long as they could, and after their son had a complete meltdown to the point of them being unable to calm their child down, they decided to speak with someone in the office. The lady from the office came to speak with them, as she should because the rules are pretty cut and dry. Well the tent lady became very agitated because they were told to hold it down and started going off like she owned the place and that the rules shouldnt apply to her. I do have to commend the office lady (sorry, I do not remember your name) as she appeared to remain calm, the whole time that the other lady was raging- which had to have been really hard to do. After being asked to leave, we witnessed the lady come back several more times. It was almost to the point that we feared what the lady would do next. I know had it been me, I would've let law enforcement deal with it because the lady clearly was not listening or understanding, nor was she worried about all of the other people she was disturbing or the kid's she was scaring with her behavior. My family and I camp at River Bottom more than several times a year and we have NEVER had a problem with anyone- especially not the staff (or even any of the other campers). They have all kinds of activities for the kids and are VERY family friendly. I have never seen any of the staff treat anyone in a disrespectful manner. In general we camp quite regularly at different places all year round and we have NEVER EVER had to keep our kids inside at a campground before (unless it was storming of course). However, we kept our children inside until this lady left - because our children had already witnessed enough hostility and due to how the lady was acting, we had no clue what she was capable of.I highly recommend River Bottom Farms to ANY family who is looking to find a family oriented atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. Thank you all for your impeccable hospitality and keeping the grounds nice and tidy for us.
Jul 06, 2025 · Christie McBrideI’m new to RV camping, this was my 2nd trip, and it was fantastic! Super nice, friendly, and helpful staff! The grounds are immaculately kept, as well as the bath houses, laundry room, and arcade. The camp sites are easily accessible and clean. They are not concrete pads but gravel and fairly level. Plenty to do for families. Hike the trail (easy hike) to the Edisto Creek, horseshoes, volleyball, jump pad, laser tag, 4 stocked fishing ponds (I saw people catching fish), playground, and large open areas for frisbee or just running for the kids. There is a nice pool also but not open for the season yet. This will definitely be my long weekend’s go to spot! Thanks River Bottom Farms for a great weekend!
Apr 21, 2025 · Gerry TurbevilleMy family was discriminated against for being foster parents, accused and kicked out the first day!! My husband and I were supposed to be there as we paid our part and when I called to figure out what was happening they HUNG UP IN MY FACE! Sounds like a gross facility if I can’t even call and get information about what’s going on with my family’s reservation smh this was a event for my nephews birthday and they just completely laughed in our faces and ruined it. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY
Jul 04, 2025 · Jennifer SatcherAlways love coming here! Very friendly staff, always helpful. Not alot of "full timers" its an actualcampground with super easy pull throughs, full hool up with a pool and playground. At the mouth of the Edisto, walking trails accessible for registered and insured golf carts. Quiet at night a +++ we will always come back often!
Jun 09, 2025 · Renee BlackWe booked for September of 2024 not knowing hurricane Helene would hit our area so severely. We had to cancel due to weather conditions, power outages and could not get to the campsite as trees were down as well. We were trying to reschedule as we were originally trying to celebrate Halloween with our family. The lady who answered the phone stated it is policy we would have to book and use our days within six months. We requested to reschedule for next September/October however it was stated it is policy. We are very disappointed as other campsites were willing to work with us as they also have policies in place as we book several campsites at different times. Very poor customer service. It is very unlikely we book with this campground again.
