★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We stayed in one of the yurts for two nights and had a comfortable experience overall. The yurt itself was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of room to sit and relax inside. It also had a large deck with outdoor seating—perfect for enjoying the fresh air. There’s a designated campfire area with a wooden bench, great for grilling burgers or roasting hot dogs in the evening. The yurt area is located within the RV campsite section, so it’s very quiet and peaceful—ideal for a relaxing getaway. There are plenty of bathrooms onsite, and they were super clean. The facilities also include showers and laundry, which was a big plus.If you’re planning a visit during the summer, be prepared for some serious heat during the day. I highly recommend bringing a fan and a generator to stay cool. This park is clearly designed for canoeing and kayaking, so if you’re into paddling, it’s a great spot. However, if you’re looking to fish, just note that there are no designated fishing areas. (None)Bicycles or scooters are a great idea for getting around, especially with kids.Ice bags are available for $3—bring cash if you want to avoid walking to the front entrance to pay with a card.
June 28 · Missy NaWe are on day 55 of a cross-country trip and this by far is the prettiest campground we have stayed in yet on the east coast. All sites are very private and have electric and water. The campground was immaculately clean. This state park has miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Verizon cell phone service was 5G 2 bars. Only downside was that the trash dumpsters were outside of the campground in the overflow parking lot.
July 06 · Dymm WittI have already seen several park rangers in full uniform. The playgrounds at shelter 2 are well taken care of. This is the list in the bathroom of events in April 2025! The titles look fun, and there seems to be something for every interest, schedule, age, ability and excuse to get you outside. The gentleman at the gate was kind, and informative, too. Wish I got his name!
April 26 · Ray “Ray” He him handsomeNice spacious and clean sites. The bathrooms were always clean. Staff patrolled the area during the night. Completely dark and quiet during the night allowing guests to actually rest
