★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We went camping with the whole family and had a great time. The place is still elevated almost 12 thousand feet ..it is worth it .there is a lake where you can fish...but you occupy having permission to fish because the ranger goes every day to check your fishing license. He wears winter clothes because at night under a lot of temperature and on day he is between 67 Fahrenheit and 72.
July 16 · Roger PenaGreat campsite! It’s just a long drive to get there. We went early in the season (end of April) so the lake level was a little low, but the campsite and toilets were in good condition and everything was clean. Oh, and you won’t want to miss sunset at the cliff. The view is amazing!
April 29 · James SchoenGreat ride up, amazing scenery. Campground is well maintained, some of the sites well nestled.
June 03 · Jason SteelNot crowded at all during our trip and the lake was beautiful. Great escape from the summer heat in Arizona, and worth the drive if you can stomach it. Potable water was available at the entrance to the campsite, which isn’t always the case from what I read previously. The bathrooms probably could use to be emptied a bit more regularly, but they’re vault toilets so it’s only going to get so much better. It seems that some previous campers have left litter in some places, but I won’t fault the campground for it. Watch out for skunks and make sure to clean up any food or trash that could attract nighttime visitors.
August 26 · Tom StephensVery clean and well-kept campground. When we visited on July 14th, a ranger was trying to keep a juvenile bear from getting too human-friendly by running it off. Spaces are quite comfortably separated and have ample parking, leveled tent pads, and retaining walls to support the parking and picnic/fire pit areas.
