We just picked a lot at “The Ridge” and we couldn’t be happier!! The views are fantastic on the mountain! Both Scott and Alan were phenomenal to work with. Alan spent hours with us going over and answering any questions we had in general and about each and every site we looked at. They have been super responsive any time we contact them and they stay in touch with us to set our campsite up the way WE wanted. I’d say they definitely go above and beyond. These guys are top notch and we can’t wait to get up there on April 15th to start making family memories!! Thank you!! - Pete Genovese

Raystown Ridge Camp, often affectionately referred to by its patrons as "The Ridge," is a relatively new and highly anticipated addition to the camping scene near Raystown Lake. What immediately sets it apart is its unique elevation – situated on top of a mountain, it promises and delivers spectacular views from nearly every campsite. This isn't just another patch of ground for camping; it's a meticulously planned destination designed to offer a premium experience for RV and potentially tent campers, with a strong emphasis on spaciousness and modern conveniences.

The philosophy behind Raystown Ridge Camp, as evidenced by glowing customer reviews, centers on outstanding customer service and a commitment to ensuring campers have the best possible experience. The owners and staff, notably Scott and Alan, are frequently praised for their responsiveness, willingness to go the extra mile, and dedication to helping campers set up their sites exactly "the way WE wanted." This personalized approach fosters a welcoming and comfortable environment, distinguishing it from more impersonal camping facilities. It's clear that the camp aims to be a "home away from home" for its visitors, cultivating a friendly atmosphere where new family memories are just waiting to be made. Its focus on full hookup sites suggests a lean towards RV and trailer camping, providing the comforts of home amidst stunning natural beauty.

Raystown Ridge Camp is precisely located at 17794 Ridge Top Drive, James Creek, PA 16657, USA. This address places it firmly within the popular Raystown Lake region of Huntingdon County, a prime destination for outdoor recreation in central Pennsylvania.

The camp's most defining locational feature is its elevated position "on top of the mountain." This affords campers panoramic and "fantastic views" of the surrounding landscape, a significant highlight mentioned by visitors. While offering a sense of being "away from it all," Raystown Ridge Camp maintains excellent accessibility to key attractions in the area. It is described as being "only a few miles from Shy Beaver boat launch," which provides convenient access to the expansive Raystown Lake for boating, fishing, and other water activities. It's also reportedly just "five minutes from Snyder's Run Boat Launch and eight minutes from Seven Points Marina, the Allegrippis Trails and Huntingdon," placing it strategically for various recreational pursuits and local amenities.

Access to the campground is via roads that lead up the mountain. While the views are a reward, visitors should be prepared for the ascent, especially during challenging weather conditions. One reviewer even humorously noted the owner, Scott, as a "great driver in the snow," indicating that the mountain roads can present a unique experience, particularly in winter. However, the overall accessibility to major roads connecting to the Raystown Lake area means that Raystown Ridge Camp is within comfortable driving distance for many Pennsylvanians, making it an ideal choice for a relatively quick yet profoundly rewarding getaway.
