Rancho Seco Campground

Unnamed Road, Herald, CA 95638, USA

First time here. We weekday camped in March in an RV, so it was very quiet and practically empty with only a couple tent campers and over half the RV spots empty. Lots of elbow room in the RV spots and power/water supply hookups were in good condition. Great fishing / kayaking on the lake. Caught several bass from shore. Camp host is super nice and helpful and the park is very well maintained. I imagine in the summer when the grass/weeds die, it's hot, and the place is packed with tent campers and day users, it's probably a much less peaceful vibe, but we had a great time. There's a small store with limited hours, but the host has ice and firewood available as well. Nearest store is 9 miles away. Nice dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. - Travis Smith
