Ramble at Great Sand Dunes National Park Reviews
This place is awesome! It’s glamping without the tent! The location and views are amazing! Showers and bathrooms are the absolute cleanest and well maintained, with flushing toilets and complementary toiletries. We rented the signature plus site with sink and gas and propane grills. Hammock, horseshoes and corn hole included. The best part is Adam, the campsite host. He’s a calming presence, and makes sure everyone abides by the quiet time rules. I can’t say enough good things about our experience, but the icing on the cake was when we were leaving, there’s a box when you exit that says “free for the road” they had sparkling water and stickers to remember your stay! ❤️
Jul 08, 2025 · Laura McClainWe loved the Ramble Great Sand Dunes campground! The host Adam was amazing- always around and happy to help with anything we needed. It was a “buggy” weekend so he provided cans of bug spray to all the campsites. The showers were great (a luxury we aren’t used to having when we go camping) and we enjoyed the camp kitchen and upgraded toilets. The location was also nice- just 30 minutes to the National Park and 15 minutes to Alamosa, with great views all around. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Jun 17, 2025 · Kelley and Jon AmdurI had the best time here! The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the amenities were incredible, and the views are breathtaking. I also love how they keep each campsite about 200ft apart, it helps provide some privacy and reduces noise from other campers. I can’t say enough great things. I absolutely loved it here, might be the best campground I’ve visited. Can’t wait to come back!
Jul 03, 2025 · Kirsten RawlsThis place makes camping easier. Each site provides wagons so that you can transport items from the car to your campsite. The site came with a grill and stove to cook meals. I loved that the site came with a shade cover because it is so hot camping here during the summer. The bathrooms were clean and I appreciate how easy they make it to buy firewood and other essentials like sunscreen, headlamps, and chapstick. Check out the website to see a full list of amenities that are provided at each site. Overall, the place was clean and tons of beautiful views all around the campground. I would come back. Just beware there is cacti around the campsite so keep watch of your kids and pets. My dogs and young kids did well.
Jul 06, 2025 · Julie Mortazavi McDonaldAfter years of dispersed camping, our group was pleasantly surprised by this exceptional campground. While the nearby dunes were certainly enjoyable, it was the campground itself that became the unexpected highlight of our trip. The camp host deserves special recognition for their outstanding hospitality, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. The thoughtful layout offers generous spacing between sites, providing that sense of privacy we've come to appreciate from our dispersed camping adventures. The walk-in sites were particularly impressive, equipped with convenient buggies for transporting gear – a small touch that made a significant difference. Facilities were remarkably well-maintained, with strategically placed porta potties (featuring flushing toilets and running water!) reducing the need for long walks to the main restrooms. The shower facilities exceeded expectations with reliable warm water and complimentary toiletries. What truly sets this campground apart is their attention to detail and commitment to camper comfort. While we came for the dunes, we'll remember the exceptional camping experience. Our group is already planning our next trip to visit their Mesa Verde location – perhaps the highest praise we could offer as dedicated dispersed campers.Would we stay again? Absolutely. This campground has managed to capture the essence of why we camp while adding conveniences that enhance rather than detract from the experience.
