Pinederosa Camping Area has been welcoming guests for over 30 years, aiming to provide a relaxing and enjoyable camping experience. Under new owners Jeremy and Jenna Reynolds, the campground continues its tradition of friendliness while enhancing amenities. It offers a variety of ways to stay, catering to different preferences, from RVers to tent campers. While some experiences may vary, as with any popular destination, the owners are noted for being "super" and the staff, including "Jenna," is described as "very accommodating and understanding." This commitment to guest satisfaction suggests a welcoming environment for all who choose to visit.
Pinederosa Camping Area is conveniently located at 128 N Village Rd, Wells, ME 04090, USA. This places it in the heart of Southern Maine, a region renowned for its stunning beaches, charming coastal towns, and abundant recreational opportunities. For Maine residents, particularly those in the southern and central parts of the state, Wells is an easily accessible destination for a quick getaway or a longer vacation.
Wells itself is often called the "Antique Center of Maine," offering unique shopping experiences. More importantly for campers, Pinederosa is just 3 miles from Wells and Ogunquit's famous white sand beaches, providing effortless access to the Atlantic Ocean. While one review noted needing to exit 13 miles south on I-95 and driving up US1, implying a slightly circuitous route from the south, other resources indicate straightforward access from major routes. Its proximity to towns like Kennebunkport and Ogunquit, with their shops, galleries, and restaurants, means campers can enjoy a blend of outdoor relaxation and vibrant coastal culture. This strategic location makes Pinederosa an ideal base for exploring the best of what Southern Maine has to offer.
Pinederosa Camping Area provides a range of services designed to make your camping experience comfortable and enjoyable. They strive to cater to various camping styles, ensuring essential needs are met. Based on their official website and customer reviews, services typically include:
- Diverse Site Options: Pinederosa offers 130 campsites, including full hookup RV sites (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), basic RV sites (water and electric), water/electric tent sites, and primitive tent sites. They even offer a fully renovated 1982 Airstream Excella for rent for those seeking a "glamping" experience.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: The campground boasts "immaculate restrooms" and "hot showers," a crucial amenity for any comfortable camping trip. One reviewer specifically noted the bathrooms were "clean and showers hot!" and appreciated "the old crooners music piped through the bathrooms!"
- Laundry Facility: A modern laundry facility is available on-site, providing convenience for longer stays.
- Dump Station: A designated dump station is available for RVers, although one reviewer noted it requires backing in, which might be a consideration for some.
- Camp Store: While not explicitly detailed, many campgrounds of this size typically feature a small camp store for essential supplies like firewood, ice, and basic groceries.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: Pinederosa welcomes pets, understanding they are part of many camping families. They ask that pet owners be responsible, keeping pets leashed and quiet, and cleaning up after them. Note: the Airstream rental is not pet-friendly.
- Wi-Fi and Cable TV: Full hookup RV sites generally include high-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV. However, some reviews mention "spotty wifi" in certain areas and "no cable on most sites," so connectivity might vary by location within the park.
Pinederosa Camping Area offers several features and highlights that enhance the overall camping experience, making it a desirable destination for locals.
- Heated Swimming Pool: A "beautiful pool" and "sparkling heated outdoor pool" are consistently mentioned as a major highlight, providing a refreshing way to cool off and relax, especially on warm Maine days.
- Fishing Opportunities: The campground borders the Ogunquit River, which is "stocked with brown trout," offering excellent "catch and release in the pond" and opportunities for licensed fishing. This is a significant draw for anglers.
- Family-Friendly Amenities: Beyond the pool, there is a "little play area" for children, and the overall atmosphere is described as a "family campsite," making it suitable for those with kids.
- Wooded and Secluded Sites: Many sites are "shaded by tall trees" and offer a sense of privacy. The campground sits on "37 Acres of Forest Amenities," promising a natural setting.
- Proximity to Beaches: Being just 3 miles from "white sand beaches" at Wells and Ogunquit is a huge advantage, allowing for easy beach days.
- Attentive and Friendly Owners/Staff: Multiple reviews praise the "super" owners and "friendly and supportive staff" like "Jenna," indicating a strong commitment to guest satisfaction and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Nearby Attractions: The location provides easy access to a wealth of Southern Maine attractions, including the Marginal Way, Mount Agamenticus for hiking, Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, Wonder Mountain Fun Park, whale watching tours, and various local shops and restaurants in Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport.
- Seasonal and Long-Term Stays: In addition to nightly and weekly options, Pinederosa offers seasonal RV sites, providing a way for locals to have a consistent summer escape without the hassle of setting up and breaking down their camp.
While some older reviews mention noise from I-95, this concern is balanced by the overall positive sentiment regarding the park's cleanliness, amenities, and staff.
Specific, real-time promotions for campgrounds are dynamic and best confirmed directly with the establishment. While Pinederosa's website lists their standard nightly, weekly, and monthly rates for various site types (e.g., Primitive Tent Site at $50/night, Full Hook-Up RV Sites at $70/night), it does not explicitly advertise ongoing "promotions" in the same way some larger chains might.
However, it's always worth contacting Pinederosa Camping Area directly to inquire about any potential special offers, especially for:
- Off-Season Rates: If you're planning a visit outside of peak summer, there might be reduced rates.
- Extended Stay Discounts: While weekly and monthly rates are listed, occasionally there could be additional incentives for even longer stays, particularly for seasonal campers.
- Weekday Specials: Sometimes, discounts are offered for bookings during the week, avoiding peak weekend demand.
- Last-Minute Deals: If you're flexible with your dates, there might be unadvertised last-minute availability discounts.
Calling Pinederosa directly using the contact information below is the most reliable way to learn about any current promotions that might apply to your desired stay.

Pinederosa Camping Area Reviews
You can find better for the price.First I will agree, the owners are super. Unfortunately for the price, the park isn't.We were booking just after 5pm and checked RVParky for a site somewhat close to Salem. And this came up.The sites are far from level. You will need lots of blocks to level it.They are also very narrow so you can't put your awnings out.As someone pointed out in another review, the water view is of the pond.I hate when trees aren't trimmed and the scratch along the roof or side.... and they do here. The noise from I-95 is enough to drive you insane. We have a rotating fan so I didn't notice it at night. But when I stepped outside to walk the dog in the morning, it was unbelievable. The other issue is the location. We were coming from the south and had to exit 13 miles south then drive up US1. You're way better off just staying on I95 then getting off further up. It would be faster and better. There is a small cemetery smack dab in the middle of the park. So if that creeps you out, this isn't for you.You have to back into the dump station. I've never seen that before. So for those of you that don't like wheeling your rig around, you won't like it.They do have a little play area. A beautiful pool. You can catch and release in the pond. When you consider everything, the $70 / night wasn't worth for just electric and water!!EDIT to owner.***You offered a site that was just as unlevel. And even worse, it was all grass. I have no desire for that.Sorry you didn't like my honest review. That must have been why you called both our phones while we were at dinner the next night.I'm not the only one that had mentioned noise. It is like camping in an I-95 underpass.I hope the comment about negative reviews isn't a dig at me. I leave lots of positive reviews when they are deserved. As far as trimming the trees go.... think 40 foot motorhome. Trim for that.
Jun 17, 2025 · Jimmy OI had a great experience with Pinderosa. Jenna was very accommodating and understanding. I recommend booking with them!
Jun 18, 2025 · Bryce WallisWe had a great stay in July at this campground. People are friendly and the bathrooms/showers are very clean. The camp sites are large and the pool/play ground were highly appreciated by the whole family. We have been going there for more than 10 years and will surely continue to go.
Jul 29, 2024 · Gerard GaronGreat place to stay, quite and very relaxing, only have a few fhu, so book early if you want them
May 27, 2025 · Mike HowardI stayed here last month. Bought firewood, didn't use it, returned it for a refund after being told "no problem", weeks later I find out the woods been adopted by Pinederosa: They don't give refunds.I hope MY firewood keeps the next customer warm because it most certainly didn't for me.
