Perch Lake Campground Reviews
Peaceful hike-in campground with well-maintained sites.Perch Lake is a beautiful backpacking destination within the National Forest. The sites are well cared for, each with at least one newer picnic table—some even have an additional older table. The pre-installed fire rings are convenient, though they may be a bit oversized. The main drawback is the loop trail: it's nearly impassable beyond the fifth site due to a dilapidated boardwalk and uncleared trees. With trail maintenance, this would easily be a 5-star experience.
May 29, 2025 · AndrewSeveral nice lakefront campsites a short hike in from a common parking lot. Each campsite has its own wilderness-type toilet similar to campsites in the Boundary Waters. Sites also have a fire ring and picnic table.Bring your own water or filter it out of the lake; there’s no well on-site.This area makes for a nice loop hike when the lake’s water level is low. During high water, one section of the lake loop trail becomes impassible. This has been the case for recent seasons.Lake frontage at the closest campsite appears swimmable.
Jan 13, 2023 · Greg KruegerOne of my favorite lakes and camp spots in Wisconsin.Short hike in with a nice view and water access.Nice campsites around the lake.Heads up: they are first come - first serve sites.
Jun 14, 2023 · Bryon T. PischkeBeautiful isolated campground hidden in Florence County. Perfect for a weekend of simplicity, solitude, and quiet contemplation for the true "roughing it" camper. Not for the faint-hearted; no vehicles are allowed, and all gear must be hiked in. But if you truly want a bare-bones camping experience, this is the camp for you.
Aug 28, 2023 · Karen M FExtremely rustic camp sites. There is a central parking lot with the cleanest campground pit toilet I have ever seen. All campgrounds are hike in, so you must be able to carry all supplies with you. The hike is not overly long or strenuous. No electricity or running water. This is not glamping, but it us peaceful and scenic and easy enough to hike out and drive in to civilization for an afternoon
