As a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) campground, Paradox Pond Campground typically operates with set rates rather than frequent commercial "promotions or special offers" like private businesses. The value it offers lies in its affordable public access to a pristine natural environment within the Adirondack Park.
However, prospective campers can consider the following as forms of "offers" or ways to optimize their stay:
- NYSDEC Camping Rates: The fees for campsites are established by the NYSDEC and are generally budget-friendly, providing excellent value for a lakeside Adirondack experience. It's best to check the official NYSDEC website or the ReserveAmerica platform for current pricing.
- Advance Reservations: While not a discount, securing a reservation well in advance, especially during peak summer months, is highly advisable. This "offer" ensures you get a desirable spot at this popular location, as sites can book quickly.
- Shoulder Season Camping: Although the review mentions wishing the season was longer (implying a strong preference for fall camping), visiting during the earlier or later parts of the open season (e.g., late spring or early fall, if available and weather permits) can sometimes offer a more tranquil experience with fewer crowds. Specific rate reductions for these periods are less common for state campgrounds but can occur.
- Senior/Veteran Discounts: New York State Parks and Campgrounds sometimes offer specific discounts for seniors or veterans. It's recommended to check the official NYSDEC camping guidelines for eligibility and details.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on camping fees, reservation availability, and any general public access benefits, always refer to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's official camping resources or the ReserveAmerica platform where reservations are made.

Paradox Pond Campground Reviews
I do a lot of icefishing up in the Adirondacks so it was very nice to go up and camp during the summer! Paradox Lake Campground was a great spot for a romantic getaway with my girlfriend. We enjoyed our time on the lake, as well as our peaceful campsite, which was close but not too close to the bathrooms. Site was equipped with a fire pit and grill to cook over the fire if you want to. Our site was also nice and flat which made tent camping very comfortable. We brought our dog up and it was nice for her as well. We fell asleep to the sound of Loon calls and were able to see them out on the lake. We used the on- site boat launch which was very convenient, although the dock seemed to be a bit underwater. Not sure if the water rises or falls at all though, but I'd prepare to take your shoes off if launching a vessel of any size. There was ample parking for my boat and trailer both at our campsite and the launch parking lot which was very nice. Only complaint is that their season isn't longer! Would love to camp up there in the fall!
Aug 19, 2024 · Zack HintzUnfortunately we were affected by storms this weekend, but unpredictable mother nature aside, this is a fantastic campground with large sites and a beautiful pond to fish and boat in! 10 minutes from Schroon Lake gives you the opportunity to swim at the beach and visit some cute local shops, as well!
Jul 16, 2023 · NicoleThis campsite was absolutely wonderful. By some miracle, I was able to secure a last minute spot through a cancelation for a night to visit some friends and family that were camping there. They were so polite and friendly and the entire campsite was very clean and well maintained. One night was definitely not long enough to enjoy everything Paradox had to offer. They are extremely dog friendly as long as you have proof of vaccinations; which is the best part because it would not have been the same without our fur babies. They have boat access/launch sites, swimming and kayak and boat rentals available for a very reasonable price and per day, not by the hour. They have beautiful picnic sites by the water and lots of bathroom sites which have electricity and running water and showers!! They also have available water spigots for use at any time throughout the entire grounds. The main camp maintenance supervisor, Micheal, was absolutely phenomenal. He checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and asked if we had any suggestions to offer to make our camping experience even better. I would highly suggest trying this place out for a great fun relaxing time and extremely wonderful people. We will be coming back!
Jul 05, 2024 · Carly BriguglioParadox is absolutely beautiful, and very well maintained. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Sites are nice and bathrooms are clean and conveniently located.
Oct 19, 2019 · Ninja YoungsIt was beautiful, but very secluded. If you're into the seclusion, this is the place for you. I personally was pretty uneasy camping there at night. During the day, however, the place is booming with people bringing kayaks and boats. The water is clear enough to see the bottom, and you see fish swimming around when you stand on the dock. Definitely a hidden gem during the day.
