Onslow Beach Reservation Office Introduce
onslow beach directions
For our North Carolina military families, veterans, and authorized Department of Defense (DoD) ID card holders, Onslow Beach Reservation Office at Camp Lejeune represents a unique and highly sought-after opportunity for a coastal getaway. This isn't a publicly accessible campground in the traditional sense; instead, it's a dedicated recreational area offering exclusive access to pristine beaches and comfortable lodging directly on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. It provides a peaceful and secure environment for those who serve or have served, offering a well-deserved retreat right here in our beautiful home state.
Onslow Beach is designed to provide exceptional recreational opportunities for its authorized patrons. It boasts a variety of accommodation options, from modern cabanas to cozy lodges and well-equipped RV sites, ensuring there’s something for every preference. The emphasis here is on offering a high-quality, family-friendly experience with direct access to the natural beauty of the North Carolina coastline. Reviewers consistently praise the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the comfortable amenities, making it clear why Onslow Beach is a cherished destination for those eligible to enjoy its privileges.
Onslow Beach Reservation Office is located at BA, 275 Beach Road, Camp Lejeune, NC 28547, USA. Its address within Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is a critical distinction, meaning access is restricted to authorized patrons with a valid military or DoD ID card. For North Carolina residents who meet these criteria, this location offers unparalleled advantages and accessibility to a truly exclusive coastal experience.
Camp Lejeune itself is situated in Onslow County, a region known for its military presence and beautiful waterways. Onslow Beach is positioned directly between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, providing stunning views and immediate access to both environments. This unique location allows for diverse recreational activities, from ocean swimming and sunbathing to calmer waters for fishing and boating on the Intracoastal. While its location on a military base means a certain level of security and gate procedures (requiring a DBIDS card or temporary pass for unescorted visitors not already possessing a military ID), this also contributes to a secure and well-maintained environment, free from the typical crowds found at public beaches.
For eligible North Carolinians, navigating to Onslow Beach involves entering Camp Lejeune through designated gates (e.g., Main Gate off Rt. 24, Sneads Ferry Gate off Rt. 17). Clear directions are usually available through MCCS Lejeune-New River resources. The benefit of this specific location is the direct, uninhibited access to a quiet stretch of North Carolina coastline, a privilege highly valued by those who can experience it.
Onslow Beach Reservation Office, as part of the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) offerings at Camp Lejeune, provides an extensive range of services and amenities designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for its authorized patrons. These services cater to various accommodation types, from RVs to lodges and cabanas:
- RV Park with Full Hookups: The RV campground features 41 full hookup sites, including water, electric (20, 30, and 50 amp), sewer, and cable TV connections, providing comprehensive utilities for RV campers.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, though it's noted that service can be intermittent due to the island location, a common consideration for coastal connectivity.
- Variety of Lodging Options: Beyond RV sites, Onslow Beach offers diverse lodging, including Lodges (1 bedroom/1 bath), Ospreys (3 bedrooms/2 bath), E-9 Homes (2 bedrooms/2 bath), and Cabanas (studio style, often with dishwashers and laundry in newer units). These come furnished with linens, kitchenware, and basic necessities.
- Modern Bathhouses: Clean and well-maintained bathroom and shower facilities are available for all campers.
- Coin-Operated Laundry Facility: On-site laundry amenities provide convenience for extended stays, particularly helpful in keeping beach gear fresh.
- Onslow Beach Marine Mart: A convenience store located on the property, offering basic necessities, snacks, beverages, and some recreational items, though not a full grocery store.
- Pet-Friendly Accommodations: A selection of pet-friendly units (lodges and Ospreys) and a designated dog beach (south of the Staff NCO Pavilion) are available, allowing authorized patrons to bring their furry family members. Pet fees apply, and up-to-date shot records are required.
- Lifeguards: During peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), lifeguards are typically on duty at designated swimming areas, enhancing safety for beach-goers.
- ADA Accessible Facilities: Many areas and some lodging units are ADA accessible, ensuring that the facilities can be enjoyed by guests with mobility needs.
- Reservation System: Reservations for lodging and RV sites can be made by phone or in person at the Guest Services Office. Priority booking windows are offered based on military status (e.g., Active Duty can reserve 20 weeks in advance).
- RV Dump Station: A convenient dump station is available within the RV park for wastewater disposal.
Onslow Beach Reservation Office, embedded within Camp Lejeune, offers a unique set of features and highlights that make it a premier recreational destination for its authorized patrons in North Carolina:
- Exclusive Beach Access: The most significant highlight is direct, exclusive access to a pristine stretch of Atlantic Ocean beach. This means less crowded conditions and a more private beach experience compared to public access points.
- Variety of Lodging Options: Beyond traditional RV and tent camping, Onslow Beach offers a range of fully furnished lodging units, including modern cabanas (some with dishwashers, laundry, and smart TVs), comfortable lodges, and multi-bedroom Ospreys and rank homes. This versatility caters to different family sizes and preferences.
- Beautiful Coastal Setting: Situated on an island between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, the location offers stunning sunrises over the ocean, opportunities for calm water activities on the Intracoastal, and a true sense of coastal escape.
- Ample Recreational Facilities: The area boasts a variety of amenities for active enjoyment, including basketball courts, volleyball courts, picnic areas, and guarded swimming areas during peak season.
- Pet-Friendly Amenities: With designated pet-friendly lodging units, a dog beach, and a pet playground in the RV park, it’s a welcoming environment for military families traveling with their furry companions.
- On-Site Convenience Store: The Onslow Beach Marine Mart provides a convenient spot for snacks, drinks, and basic necessities, reducing the need to leave the beach area for small items.
- Security and Serenity: Being located on a military base provides an enhanced level of security and a generally quieter, more orderly environment, contributing to a peaceful and worry-free stay.
- Proximity to Base Amenities: While providing a natural retreat, guests also have access (with proper base access) to the wider range of services and facilities available on Camp Lejeune, from larger exchanges to dining options.
- Supportive Staff: Customer reviews frequently praise the staff for being friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive and enjoyable experience for visitors.
As a facility operated by Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) for authorized patrons, Onslow Beach Reservation Office primarily structures its pricing and offers based on military affiliation and seasonality, rather than traditional "promotions" in the commercial sense. However, these structured offerings provide significant value and benefits for eligible North Carolina residents:
- Tiered Reservation Priority: Active Duty Service Members and Gold Star families (registered on goldstarfamilyregistry.com) can reserve recreational lodging and RV sites up to 20 weeks in advance. Retired Military, Active Reservists, and Active Duty from other bases can book 18 weeks in advance. Inactive Reservists and DoD civilians can reserve 16 weeks in advance. This tiered system ensures priority access for those actively serving.
- Seasonal Rates: Onslow Beach has distinct Peak Season (April 1 - October 31) and Off-Season (November 1 - March 31) rates. Off-season rates are generally lower, and during the non-peak season, RV and Tent patrons may often stay an unlimited number of nights (based on availability), with potential for monthly discounts (e.g., 10% off for each consecutive 30-day period for RVs).
- Package Deals for Lodging: Lodging units (Cabanas, Lodges, Ospreys, etc.) are often offered in 3, 4, or 7-night rental options, providing structured stay lengths that can simplify planning.
- Pet Fee Structure: While pets are allowed in designated lodging units and RV sites, a $25 non-refundable fee applies, plus daily pet fees, which are structured per stay length (e.g., 3, 4, or 7 nights for one or two pets). This transparent fee structure helps patrons budget for their pet's stay.
It's important to note that reservations require full payment at the time of booking, and a cancellation policy applies (typically a non-refundable fee of one night's rent for cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, with exceptions for official government orders). For the most current and detailed information on pricing, reservation policies, and availability, authorized North Carolina patrons should directly contact the Onslow Beach Reservation Office.

Onslow Beach Reservation Office Reviews
10/10 I loved our stay, I’ve stayed at a few different military hotel / B&Bs like this before and I’m always so happy with the experience. We stayed in the cabanas this time but have also stayed in the lodges and you can’t go wrong either way. Always clean and have enough basic necessities for your stay! The cabanas are bit more high tech than the lodges as they have dish washes / laundry as well as smart tvs but it’s all about what you’re looking for on your vacation! I was recovering from surgery this time around so we spent a lot of time in the cabana itself and it was truly a perfect place to do so. Last time we stayed in the lodges were out and about so we didn’t need all the extras - but staff is always so friendly and it’s just such a pretty place to be.
Apr 10, 2025 · Eilish MullarkeyI haven't been out since this place was open to the public. But had a lot of fun when it was filled with unexploded ordinance back in the day. The joys of being married to a combat engineer🤣🤣👋👋 yep that was me. Really enjoyed the tip toe down memory lane though🙌🙌 oorahh. But the shower grab bar planting me on my backside when it broke wasn't fun!!
May 23, 2025 · Marilyn MejoradoWe stayed here right after PCSing while waiting for our HHG to arrive and I couldn’t have made a better choice. The lodge was a little run down, but it was clean and comfortable and quite honestly, that’s all I ask for. We were able to cook instead of eat out constantly which was nice after moving across the country and eating out a lot. We have 2 dogs and being here with them was so much easier than being in a hotel. We were maybe a 1 minute walk from the beach and my daughter wanted to spent all day out there. I also forgot to mention she has loved sleeping in the loft area. The whole lodge has been perfect for our little family. It’s been so quiet the whole time we’ve been here and even now while I type this, I can hear the ocean and it’s awesome. It’s very remote out here with only the mini mart close by, but the commissary and food stuff on base is only 15 minutes away. If you’re looking for a beach vacation with no frills, this is it! I am already looking for an excuse to come stay here with friends. We will definitely be staying here again when we PCS. I would highly recommend staying here for any occasion. For what they offer, you can’t beat it!
Jan 02, 2025 · Bree HancockThe rooms are simple and primitive where you have most of what you need: a bed, a bathroom, and a kitchen. You sleep and clean up and prepare a meal or two, but mostly you can enjoy the fresh air and spectacular views of ocean life as well as the water in the inlet.
Apr 18, 2025 · Deborah GhiglieriPretty run down "lodges". No closet, tiny cramped bathroom, Ocean very close but not visible from unit. No ironing equipment. A/C units (2) very, very loud, no internet, wifi & cell reception sketchy. Nearby pavilions very dirty. Beach on other side of large burm is beautiful.
