North Shore Campground Reviews
We were greeted by Trump flags and a large “State of Jefferson” banner as soon as we arrived at North Shore Campground — something that was not mentioned anywhere online when we booked. Even more upsetting was the sign at the RV dump station that read “Dump Your Biden.” This kind of overt political messaging felt jarring, unwelcoming, and entirely out of place for a campground that should be a neutral, peaceful space for all guests. That said, the setting itself was beautiful. The waterfront is truly amazing — calm, scenic, and perfect for a quiet escape. Our stay was peaceful, and the natural surroundings made for a restful night. The price was reasonable, though the campsites are fairly close together, so don’t expect much privacy. While we appreciated the view and the peaceful environment, we were genuinely disappointed by the campground’s decision to publicly display political messages. Had we known in advance, we likely would have chosen to spend our money elsewhere. We hope this helps others make an informed decision before booking.
Jul 02, 2025 · Mara Ellen LargeWe enjoyed our stay there. The staff were great, the store and library were useful and the location is awesome. Sure there was some construction on the highway and we had some “brown outs” but all the negatives were not in control of the camp. All the restrooms were clean. We liked it so much we’re thinking about a seasonal spot next year.
Jun 15, 2025 · Wes CoonsWe had a beautiful one nite stay while passing thru in our van. Check in was easy with an efficient and friendly young woman. Our site had a water view and was great! Restrooms clean, showers hot. Nice little camp store in the office. Its a lovely place and next time we will stay a few days. The lake location is beautiful! Its peaceful, guests are well behaved, and an overall enjoyable campground.
Jun 17, 2025 · Karen JeanMisleading business practices. They send you two pages of terms and conditions to sign AFTER YOU HAVE PAID. On top in bold it says check in time 1 pm check out 12 pm. Buried somewhere in the two page fine print I guess it says you can’t check in between 9:45-pm 5 am. The sign at the front gate says 10 pm- 5 am and I was there before 10pm. The registration office was completely dark. Closed gate. I definitely won’t be coming back.
Jun 15, 2025 · Sarah BlairTrump flags and a sign at the RV dump station that reads “Dump Your Biden” is offensive. Campgrounds should be a haven and welcome to all campers not just some campers. Hopefully this place gets the point and finds their manners soon.
