North Beach Campground Reviews
Great campground! This campground has fantastic beach access, lots of green grass, potable water and hot showers! There is a monarch butterfly preserve next door with several trails that connect with the beach trails. The town of Pismo is a quick walk down the beach and offers many restaurants and tourist traps.
Jun 11, 2025 · Mike NadeauNice campground. Walking distance to the beach and the dunes, and to the pismo pier (a mile of beach or so). Lots of walkable trails, from boardwalks to sandy paths. Free camping on parts of the beach. The monarch butterfly sanctuary on one end of the campground is a great bonus! Only issue is some of the campground is a little close to the road which can be loud, especially on weekends. Lots of people run generators too, which can get annoying (solar works great and is silent!) showers are hot, 50 cents a minute!
Feb 12, 2025 · Adam OverlandOne of my favorite campgrounds among California State Beaches. I've camped at sites 4, 5, 6 and 7 and they were all great. The beach connected to the campground is amazing too and not with too many people!
Jan 23, 2025 · Andrew KWe love it here. Bathrooms and SHOWERS!! Every spot is relatively private. Cheapest place to camp in the area. Booked solid on weekends. but you can find spots if you are vigilant. Pet frindly. Close to groceries and gas. And most importantly... the beach!! Enjoy your stay!!
Apr 26, 2025 · Scott BarnesIt’s a State Park Campground. Using that as a baseline, this one is great. The beach is accessible, dog-friendly, with expansive sand and beautifully-weathered, fallen climbing trees. The beach has minimal sand dollars. Waves are gentle and the sand is butter-soft.We stayed in site 86, which is a pull-through. No shade. Most sites here don’t have shade. There are spigots 75ft in both directions. The sites are a good combo of RV and tent campers. You’ll hear a few generators and party folks. Not too bad.Bathrooms are a little rough, average for a State Park. It’s a hike to get coins. Being single dollars for the machines. The town is fantastic, and has everything you need.
