Tucked away in the breathtaking Bridger-Teton National Forest near Cora, this campground offers more than just a place to pitch a tent; it provides an immersive experience in one of the state's most scenic areas. With the majestic Wind River Range as a backdrop and the crystal-clear waters of New Fork Lake just steps away, it's a paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors. A visitor described the lake as "super nice" with "clean, but cold" water, perfect for swimming on a warm day. This campground is a hub for adventure, whether you're a seasoned hiker, an avid angler, or a family simply looking to relax by the water. The rugged beauty of the surroundings, combined with the peaceful atmosphere, makes it a cherished spot for many local campers.
New Fork Lake Campground is situated on Forest Road 735A, near Cora, Wyoming, approximately 24 miles north of Pinedale. This location places it in a prime position to explore the stunning scenery of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and the Bridger Wilderness Area. The drive to the campground, while scenic, is an important detail for visitors to consider. According to one review, the road into the campground can be "very treacherous," and those driving a car should "use a lot of caution." This highlights the importance of being prepared with a suitable vehicle, especially a truck or an SUV with good clearance, particularly during certain seasons.
Despite the challenging access road, the campground's remote location is what makes it so special, ensuring a more secluded and authentic wilderness feel. Once you arrive, on-site parking is available. The remoteness also means that you should be prepared for potential encounters with wildlife and always carry bear spray, as one reviewer wisely advised. The combination of a peaceful, isolated setting with a short drive from Pinedale, a full-service community, makes it an ideal spot for those who want to feel far away while still having a town nearby for any unexpected needs.

New Fork Lake Campground Reviews
This lake was super nice! The water is clean, but cold if u want to swim. People can swim, kayak, fish or just camp. The terrain is rough once there by shore. We kayaked one evening and the view was spectacular. Also used the side by side and got to see the lake from top. Carry your bear spray.
September 22 · Ana GarciaThis campground was chosen for a family event. We met at the day use area where the parking is pretty limited but there is easy access to the water. The views are incredible and there are multiple hiking trails around the lake. We saw multiple paddle boarders. The road into the campground and to the day use area are very treacherous and if you are driving in a car you should use a lot of caution.
September 05 · Brian SlaterVery rough and run down campground. 15 sites but most are overgrown and small. Not advised for TT or RVs as the access road is the roughest I have ever encountered, almost need high clearance vehicle. Rate is cheap though..$7 nite. Sites have tables, fire rings, and there is a vault toilet. However No water, trash cans and no cell signal. There is a day use beach area though that is scenic.
