Jun 20, 2025 · Melody MuckenfussSo much to do if you're into the outdoors. Swimming, hiking, mushrooms, boat watching, kayaking, beautiful sunsets, and beautiful hills and beaches. Showers were a mixed bag depending on which you used but very appreciated. Bathrooms overall are in good order and clean. Campsites are very nicely spaced apart. Highly recommend.
Oct 06, 2024 · Patrick StackpooleStayed at this campground for 2 weeks. Just moved from out of state and have been the the park several times but not the campground. We stayed at 3 different sites during our stay. The first was not bad but the fire place and picnic table were on the opposite side where the camper door is. Our first few days were alright. The site was not cleaned before we got in. We stayed at sit 121 starting our second week. I pray no one else ever gets this site. We had no option as is Mr was the only one available when we booked. This site is INFESTED with ticks. During our two days on this site before asking the staff to move we had seen over 10 ticks just INSIDE our camper and several more outside. We have animals so we had no choice but to move sites to finish out our stay. The site we last had was beautiful. We still saw one or two ticks but I assume they were carried from the last site. We will most definitely not be staying here again especially with Lyme disease spreading crazy through MI right now. We were pretty much told, yeah there’s long grass and ticks and nothing else could be done but move sites. They were very friendly and respectful when we brought this situation to them. But didn’t seem like they were willing to even try to see if the site was infested. I recommend to the state park to conduct maintenance in these sites better. Several have VERY long grass. I would highly recommend Pioneer down the road! ( this is where we ended up staying after we left the state park, before moving into our new place! It was a great experience and quite nice size sites! )
May 23, 2025 · Faith McCamantWe loved staying at site 113 second loop of channel campground. Staff was very nice. Site was right across from lake Muskegon and a nice beach area where you can watch the swans, the sailboats and occasional ferry.Restrooms were clean and shower areas clean and private.
Aug 24, 2023 · Teresa D.The wind is blowing strongly, and it's a real hoot to watch the kitesurfers. The staff at the office are as friendly as can be, and the camping ground facilities are spic and span.I highly recommend visiting this camping ground.
