Mountain River Family Campground Reviews
My wife and I had a very relaxing and wonderful time at Mountain River Campground. We camped with our son and his family. We didn't have a camper but was able to rent one of the two the campground had and the size was perfect for two adults and two children if needed. It was very clean and had everything you needed. The best part was being able spend time with the grandchildren. They fished from the time they got up until dark in the river or the pond. I wish more campgrounds would have rentals so we could go with them more often. One plus was the folks who own or ran the campground were so friendly and polite. They were there for any help or information you needed. We will definitely go again when we get the chance.
Jun 19, 2025 · Bruce HedrickOne of the very few campgrounds we have stayed where it just felt like home. We love this campground & it keeps getting better every time we visit. The owners are the nicest people and the design is simple but very friendly. Mike, the owner, goes out of his way to assist you.
Jun 29, 2025 · Ken SimmonsGreat campground with even greater owners. This campground was completely destroyed by a hurricane as most know. I stayed here before that and I recently stayed after it and it looks alot like it did already. The owners have worked non stop to get it back together and in just 9 months I could not believe how much they have accomplished. The campground looks great. The sites have full hook ups. Grass and gravel everywhere so little to no mud anywhere. If you are hesitant to visit because you are worried about current conditions, trust me this place looks better now than alot of campgrounds that have not had major damage. The area around the campground is improving daily as well and most roads are in great shape to travel on. I love Mountain River and looking forward to returning again in October.
Jul 01, 2025 · John GatlinWe enjoyed our stay at MRFC. After losing everything, they have worked incredibly hard to rebuild. Everything was clean and well cared for, the fishing was great, and they are located right in the heart of so many sights to see in the mountains. We would happily stay again and can’t wait to go back!
Jun 27, 2025 · Katherine RhoadesWe had heard so many amazing things about Mountain River from friends. After the Hurricane devastation, we were not sure we would ever get to see it. Praise the Lord they are rebuilding and it is absolutely a small slice of heaven. We are love seeing their drive to rebuild. It has created a great spirit . We are already booked for Labor Day.
