Morgan Lake Hunting & Fishing Introduce
For Georgians deeply passionate about the outdoors, Morgan Lake Hunting & Fishing in Ludowici presents a specific kind of retreat. This destination is tailored for those who prioritize immediate access to hunting and fishing grounds and a more rustic, wilderness-oriented camping experience. While not a typical family resort campground, it serves as a robust base for avid sportsmen and women looking to immerse themselves in the natural abundance of South Georgia. It’s a place where the primary focus is on the pursuit of game and fish, offering a straightforward, no-frills approach to outdoor adventures.
Morgan Lake Hunting & Fishing is known for its expansive land and proximity to prime hunting and fishing areas. Situated on 200 acres of wooded countryside with lakeshore scenery, it is also adjacent to an impressive 6,000 acres of pristine wilderness. This vast natural setting is the cornerstone of its appeal, providing ample space for outdoor activities. The campground has been family-owned and operated, attracting visitors who are keen on experiencing some of the best fishing in the state. It caters to a niche audience that values direct access to natural resources for their recreational pursuits over highly developed amenities or organized activities. It's important for prospective visitors to understand that this is a location where the natural environment and its offerings are the main draw.
Morgan Lake Hunting & Fishing is located at 300 SW Boat Landing Dr, Ludowici, GA 31316, USA. While the address lists Ludowici, the facility states it is actually closer to Jesup, Georgia. This places it in Long County, a region in South Georgia known for its rural landscapes and access to the Altamaha River basin. This location is particularly advantageous for those interested in hunting and fishing in the abundant wildlife management areas of the state.
Accessibility for Georgia locals depends on their starting point. From Atlanta, Ludowici is approximately a 3.5 to 4-hour drive southeast, making it a viable option for a dedicated weekend hunting or fishing trip. For those in coastal Georgia areas like Savannah or Brunswick, the drive is significantly shorter, often under 1.5 to 2 hours. This makes Morgan Lake a relatively convenient hub for South Georgia residents seeking extensive outdoor opportunities. Its setting, while somewhat remote, ensures that visitors are deeply immersed in the natural environment, away from urban distractions. The proximity to the Altamaha River further enhances its accessibility for those looking to explore a major waterway for fishing and boating.

Morgan Lake Hunting & Fishing Reviews
The manager is not professional. He rides around the property drunk, gossiping with tenants about other tenants.
May 24, 2025 · Stephanie BennettBack stabbers drug addicts & drunk. Very unreasonable management .I would not take children. there isn't a playground that I would not take my children anyway, while the fight aint going on.A lot of drinking going on.Not a fun place to be period.
Mar 18, 2025 · Donald TinsleyNot the best of place. The owner did something with my camper& won’t own up to it. It went missing and he is saying it was towed to some sort of towing company that supposedly came got it in the middle of the night but won’t say what the name of the company is. So if anyone knows anything they can message me on my Facebook messenger same name as it is on the review. Nasty shower house
Nov 28, 2024 · Dana DrydenNo picnic tables at campsite. Very little shade. Not much to do other than fish.people living there feed wild hogs and they come right up to you while you are cooking trying to get food. Trains running all day and night and are very loud.
Aug 07, 2022 · Patricia OgasawaraIt's quiet, people are friendly, fishing is good. Rules change depending upon being a man or woman also if you're liked by management at the moment. It's gone downhill in the last few years. Trash everywhere, it's piled up in the back where somebody is redoing a RV, also piled up on the trails where the manager had someone else put debris from smashing an RV that couldn't be sold. Fishing is spotty at best. Showerhouse stays filthy unless you want to clean it, however supplies will not be furnished. Washer or dryer is usually not working and it takes at least two weeks before it's repaired. Plus if it takes your money there will be no reimbursement. I've tried to make it a little better to look at by keeping it raked, vines cut etc... but when the opportunity shows itself , obstacles will appear to make things very difficult for you.
