Mia Shalom Recreation Camp

Campground, Children's camp ★4.0

225 Forest Road, Fairview, UT 84629, USA

4.0
I love Camp Shalom! This year was better and some not so great points. The not so good is that the North Camp area has non working toilets so there are porta potties. Obviously, smelling not so great after 5 days. The showers are still cold. Also there was a lot of construction around the lake. I'm not sure what the project was, but there were big dump trucks and excavators. The magic of the mountains was somewhat lost some of the time. And our cabins in our stake had a few problems with bats, mice and a carpenter ants' nest. To be expected since we are in the mountains, but it seemed more than past visits. The good things did seem to outweigh all the above. You can now finally swim and splash in the lake. There is a rock wall for climbing and archery if you can get on the schedule. The Spirit is still strong there. The Camp missionaries are helpful and doing the best they can in the mountains. The temperature is much cooler than the valleys in the city. We had a great time still and the girls wanted to go back! - Beth Ann Jessee
