As a New York State Campground, Luzerne Campground operates under the pricing and reservation structure set by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS Parks). Generally, state campgrounds do not offer frequent "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense (e.g., flash sales, percentage discounts, buy-one-get-one deals). Their pricing is typically standardized across the system for specific types of sites and amenities.
However, there are certain aspects that can be considered "offers" or provide value to New York residents:
- Affordable Rates: State campgrounds are generally known for offering very competitive and affordable nightly rates compared to private campgrounds, making them a cost-effective option for a family vacation.
- Seasonal Passes/Permits: While not specific to Luzerne, New York State Parks often offer various passes (e.g., Empire Pass) that provide unlimited day-use vehicle entry to parks, which can offer significant savings if you plan to visit multiple state parks for hiking, swimming, or other activities during your camping trip.
- Loyalty/Return Value: For regular campers within the New York State Parks system, the consistent quality, reliable amenities (especially with recent upgrades like new bathhouses), and familiar reservation system offer a form of value and convenience that encourages repeat visits.
- Accessibility of Reservation System: The centralized online reservation system for NYS Parks allows campers to plan and book their trips well in advance, securing desired sites during peak seasons – a "convenience offer" that is highly valued.
To find the most accurate and up-to-date information on camping rates, reservation policies, and any specific state-wide initiatives (which might act as promotions, like a "Free Fishing Weekend" or similar), New York residents should consult the official New York State Parks website or directly contact the campground. Luzerne Campground Reviews
Bathroom areas could use a good cleaning and a bunch of fireplace areas still need to be redone. But it's come a long way in the last few years. What a great week with all my family.
Aug 12, 2022 · Laura GregorySites were on the small side, but we had a great location. Rangers were very friendly and informative with the kids. Private and quiet, brand new bathhouses with showers. Our regular bathroom could have been updated but it was clean and worked. Small beach to swim and across the lake we found a fishing spot, Great experience for us and the kids. Not far from Lake George its the perfect spot!
Aug 08, 2018 · Amanda Erbeckbathrooms are a little run down. Showers are nice and new. Great campsite, a little open to everyone else as there isn't any ground cover but very well maintained. Happy to have stayed there and I will go back!
Aug 28, 2018 · William BrewerWe were surrounded by groups of extremely rude campers. The park staff fax them numerous times to quiet down throughout the day and the night and they did not listen. The camper should have been asked to leave but yet they were able to stay. It did not matter what time of day it was as they were loud 24 hours a day. The lake was closed so you could not go swimming.
