Lumber City RV Park prioritizes essential services that cater directly to RV campers, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. While it's noted for not having "crazy bells and whistles," it focuses on delivering core amenities with exceptional quality and attention to detail.
- Full Hookup RV Sites: Every site at Lumber City RV Park comes equipped with full hookups, including water, sewer, and electric (with 20, 30, and 50 amp options available on some sites). This is a significant convenience for RV owners, allowing for a fully self-contained camping experience.
- Clean Restrooms and Showers: Despite the review indicating "no facilities," the official website of Lumber City RV Park confirms the presence of "Clean Restrooms" and "showers," though it specifies that the "Bath house is ONLY OPEN from Fridays at 12pm, noon, to Sundays at 6pm. OTHERWISE, the bath house is CLOSED Monday through Thursday." This is an important detail for campers to note.
- Camp Store: A camp office offers basic camping supplies, gifts, and mementos.
- Firewood Delivery: Firewood is available for purchase and can be delivered directly to your site, ensuring you have what you need for a cozy campfire. (It's generally advised to buy local firewood to prevent the spread of invasive species).
- Dumpster at Gate: Convenient trash disposal is provided.
- Pavilion Rentals: A multi-use pavilion is available for rent, perfect for reunions, receptions, birthdays, and meetings, offering a great space for group gatherings.
It is highly recommended for prospective campers to directly confirm the operating hours and availability of specific facilities, especially the bathhouse, to ensure it aligns with their needs.
The true allure of Lumber City RV Park lies in its unique atmosphere and the genuine experiences it offers, consistently highlighted by its loyal patrons:
- Peaceful and Quiet Environment: This is arguably the most emphasized feature. Campers rave about the park's serenity, making it an ideal spot for relaxation, quiet contemplation, and escaping the noise of daily life.
- Friendly and Attentive Owners (Terry and Kathy): The owners are frequently praised for their exceptional hospitality. Reviewers describe them as "amazing and so accommodating," making visitors "feel like family." This personal touch significantly enhances the camping experience.
- Cleanliness and Meticulous Upkeep: Despite being a "quiet" campground, the grounds are consistently described as "clean" and "neat," reflecting the hard work and dedication of the owners.
- Welcoming Regulars: The established community of "regulars" at Lumber City RV Park is noted for being "great people as well and very welcoming to new comers," fostering a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
- "Outdoor Paradise" Setting: Situated near the rolling hills and wooded areas of central Pennsylvania, the park offers access to scenic views and natural beauty, truly feeling like an "outdoor paradise."
- On-Site Fishing Pond: The park features a pond where guests can enjoy catch-and-release fishing, providing a relaxing activity right within the campground.
- Recreation and Sports Areas: Lumber City RV Park also offers a mini-golf course, a playground for kids, a volleyball court, a basketball net, and a large field suitable for soccer or softball. There's also a multi-use platform stage area for entertainment.
- Hiking and Nature Walks: For those who enjoy exploring, the area offers opportunities to hike and discover rock formations or track logging roads, with scenic views of the river leading to the Curwensville Dam. The campground was once home to a stone quarry, and the open pit and beautiful rock formations are still visible.
- Bike Riding: Bicycles are welcome, allowing for peaceful rides through the scenic area.
- Pet-Friendly: Leashed pets are welcome, with clear rules about control and cleanup, ensuring a harmonious environment for all campers.
Lumber City RV Park, as a family-owned and operated business, tends to offer value through its exceptional service, well-maintained facilities, and consistent pricing rather than frequent promotional deals. However, for Pennsylvanians, certain aspects can be considered inherent "offers":
- Long-Term Stay Options: The park likely provides flexible booking options, including daily, weekly, and seasonal rates. Seasonal or extended stays can often represent a better value for those looking for a long-term peaceful retreat.
- Personalized Hospitality: The "amazing and so accommodating" nature of the owners, as widely praised by customers, is an invaluable "special offer" that enhances the overall camping experience and fosters a loyal customer base.
- Value-Driven Amenities: The provision of full hookups at every site, access to clean facilities (with the noted bathhouse hours), and recreational features like fishing and sports courts all contribute to a high-value stay.
- Community Atmosphere: The welcoming nature of both the owners and regular campers adds intangible value, creating a pleasant social environment.
For the most current rates, availability, and any specific policies, interested Pennsylvanians should contact Lumber City RV Park directly. It's always advisable to book in advance, especially during peak season, to secure your preferred site.
