Livingston Campground

Campground, Greenhouse ★3.0

11 Rogers Ln, Livingston, MT 59047, USA

3.0
Definitely would not stay here again. What is a campground without a fire ring at the campsite? A parking lot. That’s exactly what this “campground“ was. No fire rings at the sites the bathrooms and shower houses looked not very well cleaned and rather crusty in the showers themselves. The campground host didn’t exactly make me feel welcome either. Didn’t pull out a map to show me exactly where my site was relative to the office and I had to fend my for myself in that regard. I will grant you it is a very small campground so it wasn’t very difficult to find my site. It was just one aspect of service that I was hoping to find. Even if you’re looking for a place to camp overnight, I would strongly suggest you look at a different location. The view that they have their may be nice, but it’s not worth the cost. - Paul Moritz (The Eclectic Mechanic)

What is Worth Choosing

Choosing Livingston Campground is a decision based on pragmatism and convenience. While some may criticize it for lacking the rustic charm of a national forest campground—and it’s true that it’s more of a functional RV park than a wilderness retreat—it serves its purpose exceptionally well. The primary reason to choose this campground is its robust set of amenities. For many RVers, having access to full hookups (water, sewer, and electricity) is non-negotiable, and Livingston Campground provides these services reliably. This makes it an ideal stop for a long-distance road trip or for those who plan to stay for an extended period while exploring the Livingston and Paradise Valley area. The clean restrooms and showers, while noted by some to be in need of an update, are still a welcome amenity.

The campground’s location is another compelling reason to choose it. It’s situated near downtown Livingston, which is a vibrant town with a rich history, excellent dining options, and unique shops. It’s also perfectly positioned for trips into the Paradise Valley, a scenic drive that leads you to the north entrance of Yellowstone. This makes Livingston Campground a practical and strategic basecamp. Furthermore, the fact that it is pet-friendly and accommodates a wide range of RV sizes makes it a versatile option for different types of travelers. While it may not have fire rings at every site or a sprawling, forested layout, it offers a quiet, no-fuss experience that is exactly what many travelers, particularly those arriving late or just needing a quick stop, are looking for. It’s a testament to a place that knows what it is and does it well, providing a valuable service in a beautiful and popular region of Montana.
