Lime Saddle Campground Introduce
Hello, California adventurers! Are you seeking a fantastic outdoor getaway that combines the joy of camping with endless opportunities for lakeside fun? Look no further than Lime Saddle Campground, a beloved destination nestled on the shores of Lake Oroville in Northern California. This campground provides a comfortable and convenient base for exploring one of our state's most impressive man-made lakes, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation for families, friends, and solo travelers alike.
Lime Saddle Campground is celebrated by many for its welcoming atmosphere and thoughtful amenities. As one delighted camper exclaimed, it’s an "Amazing place to take family or friends," boasting "over 40 spots to choose from." This variety ensures you can find a site that fits your needs, whether you're bringing a full-size RV or a simple tent. The convenience of "RV hook ups" and "each campsite has picnic tables and extra areas for tents" underscores its versatility. It's a place where you'll feel well-cared for, with "bathrooms are clean" and "park rangers are nice and kept very good watch of the park."
Beyond the comfortable sites, Lime Saddle Campground truly shines with its access to Lake Oroville's vast recreational offerings. While you might need "to pay a Dollar for two tokens" for the showers, the fact that "showers are really warm" ensures a refreshing experience after a day on the lake. Be mindful of the local wildlife – as one reviewer humorously noted, "Be aware of other animals there are foxes that run around but they’re very sweet but they do still food at night." This reminder adds to the authentic outdoor feel. With a very reasonable price point, just "$25 for a night for just a tent and $45 for a Trailer hook up," it's easy to see why this spot is "highly recommend" and leaves campers "super satisfied!" Let's dive deeper into what makes Lime Saddle Campground a prime choice for your next California camping adventure.
Lime Saddle Campground is strategically located at Lime Saddle Rd, Oroville, CA 95965, USA. This places it directly on the northern side of Lake Oroville, within the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. Its position offers prime access to the lake's expansive waters and its many recreational opportunities. The campground is situated a short drive from the city of Oroville, making it a convenient destination for many Californians residing in the Sacramento Valley and beyond.
Accessibility to Lime Saddle Campground is generally straightforward. The campground is reachable via paved roads, specifically by taking Highway 70 north of Sacramento to Pentz Road, then turning left onto Pentz Road and following signs to the campground entrance. This paved access makes it easy for all vehicle types, including large RVs and trailers, to reach the campsites comfortably.
Upon arrival, campers are provided with a map to help navigate the "over 40 spots," clearly showing "spots that are already taken." This helps in finding your pre-booked site or selecting a first-come, first-served option if available. While many sites are designed for comfort, some campers have noted that "Some of the parking spots were not very level." This is a useful tip for RVers, suggesting that bringing leveling blocks could enhance comfort. However, the campground's overall design, with its "each area is different and unique" layout and "paved" sites, ensures a generally smooth and accessible experience. The adjacent Lime Saddle Marina and boat launch ramps further enhance accessibility for those bringing watercraft, providing direct access to Lake Oroville. The well-maintained roads and clear signage contribute to an easy and stress-free arrival, setting the stage for a relaxing stay.

Jun 15, 2025 · PookieBathrooms were clean. One of the showers didn't work but the other one was warm and had adequate pressure. Some of the parking spots were not very level but I had the place to myself for 2 nights.Nice concrete tables and steel fire rings, every spot had a level tent pad.If all the showers worked I would have given it 5*
Jan 06, 2025 · YogiThis place is quiet, serene and of course family friendly. There was a little commotion between campers arguing but it didn't last long (good thing). We stayed in space 2 and let me tell you anywhere from space 2 to 8 you're uphill and you're going to have a distance for the restrooms/showers, coming back up that hill to your space is a workout! I prefer Bidwell Campgrounds for next time! Restrooms cleaned daily as well. Not much shade
Jul 07, 2022 · Jessica KAwesome sites some with very nice spacing between them. 16 electric/water sites plus many more no service sites. Very quiet in mid March. Turkeys gobbling every day. Clean restrooms and pay showers using tokens only... bummer, as you have to purchase more than you may use. No access to water. Even boat ramp is high and dry. Oh, also camping sites were not burned in fires, but boat ramp 1/2 mile away was.
Mar 20, 2022 · Bruce KesslerNice quite campground. Each camping spot has a picnic table and a fire pit. The spots are spacious and the bathrooms a very clean. No lake access from the actual campground.
