Lake Del Valle Family Campground

7000 Del Valle Rd, Livermore, CA 94550, USA

4.0
There is an unspoken rule at this campground that the loudest gatherings are at the campsites at the southernmost parts of the campground and the quietest ones are closest to the entrance. Knowing this will help you select the right site. As a solo camper I booked a site without knowing this and ended up sandwiched between two large families each hosting a bbq party with screaming children who kept shrieking way past their bedtime. It was probably the worst camping experience I've ever had and I decided to pack up and drive home to get some sleep. I don't understand why people think campgrounds are for parties in the forest. I grew up in a different era when camping meant a quiet retreat in nature. If I visit again, I'll book only in the northern section of the campground where it appears to be quieter, - Jane Liu
