Finding the perfect base camp that caters to various preferences, from cozy cabins to primitive tent sites, can significantly enhance the experience. Lago Linda Hideaway in Beattyville, Kentucky, aims to be just such a place, offering a diverse range of accommodations and amenities set within a expansive natural landscape.
Lago Linda Hideaway has long been a destination for climbers, hikers, and nature lovers, frequently praised for its generally quiet and peaceful atmosphere compared to some other campgrounds in the area. Guests often highlight the friendly owners and the overall clean facilities. However, recent feedback suggests some evolving challenges, including concerns about declining amenity quality (such as dirty bathrooms and rotted picnic tables) and occasional noise disturbances, specifically from live music events without prior warning. These recent experiences, while individual, indicate that while the core appeal of Lago Linda Hideaway remains, prospective visitors might want to inquire about current conditions and event schedules to ensure their expectations align with their desired camping experience.
This article will provide a detailed overview of Lago Linda Hideaway, exploring its strategic location near the Red River Gorge, the wide array of camping and lodging options, and its unique features designed to make your Kentucky outdoor escape unforgettable. Lago Linda Hideaway Reviews
Have stayed here several times over the last 12 years or so, and it seems the amenities have gone downhill while the prices have gone up.Bathrooms were so dirty they felt almost unusable. Hair everywhere in there for days in a row, mold on the sinks, nasty dollar store hand soap, and the bathrooms smelled very strongly of something like cheap cologne. Also, our picnic table was pretty rotted and crooked. Could definitely use some upgrading to the amenities here. For what they're charging per night, I'm not sure why there isn't at least a daily cleaning crew.
Jun 22, 2025 · Brooke Ayles3 stars for my last visit. I’ve been coming to Lago Linda for almost a decade to camp when climbing at the red and always loved how quiet and peaceful it was compared to Miguel’s and some other campgrounds in the area. The campsites and facilities are kept clean, the ground is flat with thick grass making it great for tent camping, the owners are very nice and friendly, and I love the dogs you usually get to meet there.Unfortunately this year there was a band playing until 10:30 which made it impossible to get to bed early. I understand that is still before quiet hours officially start but I’ve always taken that to mean people talking around a campfire, not a full band on a PA playing loud enough to not being able to hear your campfire crackle. There wasn’t any warning about this so there wasn’t an option to go somewhere else without breaking down our campsite and finding another place after dark which made us feel trapped and frustrated. We will likely try somewhere else next time which is a shame as it’s been such a great and consistent campground until now.

Jun 22, 2025 · Michael EndrizziAs the name says, it is truly a hideaway in the woods. They offer four or five cabins with electricity, water and WiFi. There are a number of spots for camping and tents. They have showers on site. They have a shop, a place to eat and other amenities.
