Jack Creek Campground, managed by the U.S. Forest Service, provides a solid set of essential services designed to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay for campers who appreciate a traditional, somewhat rustic, outdoor experience.
- Campsites: The campground offers individual campsites that are described as "roomy" and spacious, providing adequate space between sites for privacy. These sites typically accommodate both tents and smaller RVs/trailers.
- Vault Toilets: A significant highlight is the cleanliness of the vault toilets, which are consistently praised as "well maintained" and "clean." This commitment to hygiene greatly enhances the comfort of a rustic camping experience.
- Fire Rings/Pits: Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring or pit, allowing campers to safely enjoy traditional campfires for warmth, cooking, and ambiance (always check for current fire restrictions before lighting a fire).
- Picnic Tables: Every site includes a sturdy picnic table, providing a convenient surface for meal preparation, dining, and gathering.
- Shade: The campground benefits from "plenty of shade" provided by the surrounding trees, keeping campsites cooler and more comfortable, especially during warmer Central Oregon summers.
- Camp Host: A friendly and attentive camp host is typically on-site, making "regular inspections" and available to assist campers with questions or minor issues. Their presence contributes to the overall safety and enjoyment of the campground.
- No Potable Water: While not explicitly stated in the reviews, many Forest Service campgrounds of this nature do not offer potable (drinking) water. Campers should plan to bring their own supply of drinking water for their entire stay.
- No Electrical Hookups: There are no electric hookups available at the campsites, reinforcing the traditional camping experience.
- No Dump Station: The campground typically does not have an RV dump station on-site.

Jul 16, 2024 · Linda C MayBeautiful, we went to the trailhead which is down the same road as the campground. The trail is beautiful especially once you get near the creek and the trees and greenery is lush. It's only a 1/2 mile so 1 mile total trail but worth it
Jul 12, 2020 · Meg MarieStayed there before, great dry camping spot late spring/early summer
May 15, 2025 · Philip AndersenLarge camping space, good tree cover, beautiful creek, clean bathrooms. Will come back!
Jul 30, 2023 · Amy ToornstraIt was great! We showed up there without a reservation for a night. Was not sure if there were any openings and the gentleman that goes around to the campgrounds to clean and make sure all is good took the time to check out his list and help us find a space. He was amazing! Beautiful location and great creek to play in for kids and adults alike.
