Hurricane Lake - Primative Camping Reviews
Very clean tent campsites and restrooms. Fairly level, mostly grassy sites with some tree coverage for shade. Beautiful lake. No swimming due to alligators, which we saw a couple of times in the water.
Apr 22, 2025 · Cindy StevensWanted to go camping for Mother’s Day weekend and it was so beautiful. Clean ladies room and a nice breeze. Many dirt roads to take your bikes down and a lake to Canoe or trolling motor raft/boat through they do have the gator nesting area marked in orange. we also saved a turtle. My kids had a blast especially my son. Friendly people. We’ll be back a few more times towards winter.

Oct 21, 2024 · Jimmy CaseyThis is a great place to go, the facilities are always super clean, The campsites are very nicely kept,, and is just a great place to go and unwind.
Oct 24, 2024 · Derek KrumelSimply amazing escape away from city life and human interaction! There is a camp host site at the entrance accompanied by a nice looking restroom, possibly shower, facility and small public parking/water access area. The camping area did feature a water spicket (only cared to see the one that was too close to me lol) and no electrical which was great. Simple & clean sites. Day use in my tent was seemingly not frowned upon by anyone. Will definitely be back. :-) the views can’t be beat either!! Thanks Florida! Ps for non locals/there is very little cell signal and the Florida parks system does have an honor system day or yearly pass fee for these areas. Websites are posted & signal is typically near enough by that you can drive a few miles and do the right thing. $2/day and $44 for single for the year…. Well worth it to maintain such a natural luxury for our use and enjoyment in life. 🕊
