As a facility operated within the Maryland State Park system (Patapsco Valley State Park), Hollofield Campground typically operates under fixed pricing structures set by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Therefore, traditional "promotions" in the commercial sense (like discount codes or seasonal sales) are not commonly advertised directly by the campground itself.
However, the value and potential "offers" for Maryland locals are implicitly embedded in the state park system's policies and broader DCNR initiatives:
- Maryland Park Pass: For frequent visitors to Maryland State Parks, purchasing an annual Maryland Park Pass (or Golden Age Pass for seniors) can provide significant savings. This pass typically covers entrance fees to most state parks (though not always camping fees directly), which can be a valuable "promotion" for families who plan multiple visits to state parks throughout the year. It's always worth checking the current benefits of these passes with Maryland DNR.
- Off-Season Rates: While not a direct "promotion," state park campgrounds often have different pricing tiers for peak season (summer) versus shoulder seasons (spring and fall) or off-season camping. Camping during the quieter months can sometimes result in slightly lower rates, providing a value opportunity for flexible travelers.
- Advanced Reservation System: The ability to reserve campsites up to a year in advance through the Maryland State Parks reservation system can be seen as a crucial "offer" for popular campgrounds like Hollofield. This ensures locals can secure their preferred dates, especially during busy weekends or holidays, without the stress of last-minute availability.
- Park Programs and Events: Patapsco Valley State Park frequently hosts interpretive programs, guided hikes, and special events, many of which are free or require a nominal fee. While not direct camping discounts, these educational and recreational opportunities add significant value to a camping stay at Hollofield, enriching the overall experience.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on camping rates, reservation policies, or any potential seasonal variations in pricing, Maryland residents should always consult the official Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website or contact Hollofield Campground directly via the provided contact information.

Hollofield Campground Reviews
It's great to have a campground this close to D.C. so you can do day trips to all the sights around. Visited the Wharf area in Baltimore while camping here. The code system and entrance gates are a little tricky, but are needed for safety in the middle of this metropolitan area. The showers could be cleaned more frequently but the water was good and hot. The hosts seem diligent and available. Firewood is for campfires $5 for 8 pieces fall of '24. We had to use levelers for our site at 418. Great for families.
Sep 17, 2024 · Judith BockGreat staff, very friendly. Nice wooded area. I did find the sites to close to each other. Great if you like to make friends, but not so good if you enjoy keeping to yourself. Overall it was very quiet and well kept. Bathrooms do need help. There was a sign on the door that renovations are coming. Some sites have electrical hookup, but no water.
Apr 29, 2024 · Eric PeraltaBeautiful location above the Patapsco River. Well maintained trails. Beach along the river gets overcrowded during the summer. Besides that, it's amazing to have such gorgeous trails so close to Baltimore.
Mar 29, 2025 · KG XillaI love this little gem near Baltimore. Dog and family friendly. Electric sites and primitive sites. Ice on site and firewood on site 24 hrs on the paybox honor system. Dated but clean restrooms and plenty of trails for hiking and biking. River for fishing. And quiet and dark at night. Park staff are awesome.
