Hocking Hills Campground

19852 OH-664, Logan, OH 43138, USA

4.0
Very easy check-in. Shower house was clean. Campground where welll kept. Trash beens always seemed empty, not overflowing like some other campgrounds, but I don't remember hearing a garbage truck. Great place for hiking and fishing. Quiet...the visitor center and trails just below the campground were busy, but you could not hear it in the campgrounds. Just make sure food is put away. I saw Raccoons rummaging through a couple of neighbors' dog food and other items a couple of different times. - Angela Ward

Hocking Hills Campground puts you directly in the center of this action, offering unparalleled proximity to the main attractions. Imagine waking up, stepping out of your tent or RV, and being just moments away from hitting the trails that lead to some of the most iconic geological formations in Ohio. This convenience is a game-changer for maximizing your time exploring the wonders of Hocking Hills.

What truly sets Hocking Hills Campground apart, and why it consistently receives rave reviews from visitors, is its unwavering commitment to cleanliness and guest comfort. We've all been to campgrounds where the facilities leave something to be desired, but here, the "shower house was clean," and the "bathrooms alone were reason enough to stay: super clean, quite nice, very warm, and with the best campground/public shower I’ve ever been used." This level of pristine upkeep makes a significant difference, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing experience after a day of strenuous hiking and outdoor adventures.

Beyond the immaculate facilities, the campground itself is "very well kept." From the orderly sites to the consistently empty trash bins (despite a busy park), the attention to detail is evident. This dedication to maintenance creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere, allowing campers to focus on enjoying their surroundings rather than worrying about their environment. Whether it's your first time "solo car camping" or you're a seasoned RVer, the ease of check-in and the overall quiet ambiance – despite being so close to popular trails – contribute to a peaceful and enjoyable stay. For us Ohioans seeking a top-tier camping experience in our most beloved state park, Hocking Hills Campground truly delivers.

Promotions or Special Offers

As Hocking Hills Campground is part of Hocking Hills State Park, managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), its pricing and any "promotions" are generally structured within state park guidelines. The focus is on affordable access to the park's natural resources rather than commercial discounts. However, there are inherent values that could be considered 'offers':

  • Affordable Rates: Compared to private campgrounds, Ohio State Park campgrounds typically offer very competitive and budget-friendly nightly rates for various site types (non-electric, electric, full hook-up). For example, non-electric sites are around $27-28/night (peak season), electric sites $31-32/night, and full hook-up sites $45/night. Off-peak season rates are generally lower.
  • Year-Round Operation: The campground is open year-round, offering camping in all seasons, including a more secluded experience in the quieter winter months when some facilities remain open.
  • Federal Recreation Passes: While not a direct campground discount, eligible individuals with federal passes like the America the Beautiful Senior Pass or Access Pass may receive discounts on some fees within the broader recreation areas managed by federal agencies, though state parks often have their own specific discount programs (e.g., for Ohio veterans or seniors, which should be verified directly with ODNR).
  • Direct Access to Free State Park Attractions: The "promotion" is the free and easy access to the world-renowned Hocking Hills State Park attractions (Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, etc.), which do not have an entrance fee. Camping here positions you perfectly to enjoy these without additional travel costs or time.

Reservations for campsites and Sherman Cabins can be made up to six months in advance online via the Ohio State Parks reservation system or by calling (866) 644-6727. It's highly recommended to book well in advance, especially for peak season and weekends, as the campground is extremely popular.
