Highland Ridge Campground Reviews
Tent camped here with my 3 young kids and had a great time. The sites are beautiful and clean, there's a playground on site and hiking trails.
May 25, 2025 · andrea bartlingWe stayed 3 days at this campground. We're from Missouri so I chose it based on reviews and I'm glad we did! The restrooms and showers are very nice, great water pressure and good hot water. There's plenty of water spickets scattered around. There's a nice playground the grandkids loved. They said that was their favorite part of the camping trip! There's a beach to use, it's about a 15 minute drive and there's no dogs allowed at the beach. This was something that wasn't mentioned when I looked through reviews. The camp hosts are WONDERFUL! We had trouble with our truck while we were there but the hosts have a son with a diesel shop so my husband was able to replace the injector at the camp site and the host's son came by with his computer to program it!We were at campsite E. Water on one side and the bathrooms just about 300 steps to the other side by the playground. There are activities with the park rangers! On Saturday, we took a night trail walk with glow sticks! The park rangers had lots to teach the group about the forest and the reservoir. The sites are spread out and they're all wooded so no problem to hang clothesline or hammocks. They are very small gravel, so way better for bugs than grassy sites. Some of the rocks are magnetic, bring a magnet and see! There's a picnic table and a fire pit with a grill at each site. You do not need a pass at this campground like so many in Wisconsin. Our site was $20 per night. Well worth it! We will certainly stay again!
Jun 18, 2023 · Jaclyn SchmidtLoved this campground. We were right next to the bathroom, and it did not smell. Very nicely kept and cleaned park. Dog friendly, though it gets annoying with all the baking and dog related noises. Not everyone is a dog owner or lover. We all have our own choices. The woods are beautiful, and there are walking and horseback paths around. We saw plenty of nice bugs, including giant swallowtail and sphinx moths. The beach is across the lake, which is kind of a really long drive away (7.5 miles). Spring Valley is nearby and you can get things at the Butchery shop or dollar store incase you underpacked. Overall, we had a great experience here and plan to go back sometime. Oh, the woods are very nice and thick. It was 85 degrees out in the sun but about 73 in the park where the sunshine doesn't hit the ground very hard. We almost thought it was night time at noon with his dark it was in the camper (on a sunny day). Local people also sell a plethora of wood along the road so there is no shortage of campfire wood.
Jul 05, 2023 · Beerar ItumarA very nice little wooded campground nestled in amongst the pine trees with a beautiful reservoir close by. Great little hiking and equestrian trails to wander. And a big playground for the kids.
May 14, 2024 · SantiagoMosquitoes!! Spiders!!Couldn't really enjoy because mosquitoes didn't leave us alone for a second. We went in late summer, may be because of that, idk. The campsite was very beautiful. Restrooms and showers are okay. Almost all the spots are pretty much shaded and beautiful. Has enough distance from neighbors too. The host was very helpful and friendly. Not much info on the hiking trails though, it's like self guided mostly.
