Hawn State Park Campground Reviews
Quiet and clean campground, and easy to find. It's very important to reserve a spot online, as this is a popular park (I went in August). The online reservation system is easy to navigate. The spot I picked online was back in the corner and quiet, but there are sites with grass a couple spots over. Loved the trails, especially by the creek. Very important, tennis shoes, sandals, or flip flops will not be adequate for these trails. I bought hiking shoes the week before, and I'm thankful I had them. Definitely wear a deep woods off type of insect repellent if you're a favorite snack of mosquitoes or horse flies like I am. Also, the "dry" version of repellent I used was not as effective as the regular deep woods spray. In the pics, some of the trail is smooth, and other parts are very rocky.
Sep 10, 2024 · David FisherEasy to find. Easy check in. Friendly staff at front gate. They sell firewood $5 and such. Campgrounds are all marked well. Each has a picnic table , gate over fire ring so you can cook, pole to hang trash/ light, as well as a large parking enough room to fit two cars with plenty of room. Bathrooms are very clean. Even have a washer and dryer for $1/ each you can use. Playground is very nice and large. Very quiet after prob 10. The trail/ area behind our campsite was beautiful. Our campsite #17 was prefect.. close to bathroom, playground, and river. Ticks were bad though.
May 30, 2024 · Jackie KendallAbsolutely loved it here! Very clean park! Campsites are a little close together, but if you have good "neighbors" it's not too bad. Scenery is gorgeous! We will be coming back here often!
Aug 24, 2018 · Donna PattonWe paid $19 with a $2 vet discount for a basic electric site that was concrete. Only a couple of campers in the middle of January. Off season is first come first serve and you self pay at the campground entrance. Cell service is spotty. Shower house closed during off season. The campground is 13 miles from I-55 and was worth it since we only paid $19 for electricity.
Feb 01, 2025 · Steve MetscavizIf you’re looking for a relaxing camping trip or a refreshing hike in the woods, this is the park for you. We love taking our dogs along on the trails, great scenery and wonderful place to recharge yourself.
