Hartwell Lakeside KOA Holiday Reviews
I practically grew up on this lake & at this campground, before it was KOA. Coming back when I can, is always a fabulous experience...especially with family. The campground has changed some, mostly for the better. There were a couple of things that need to be updated & grass that needs cutting...etc...but it's still beautiful & enjoyable!
Apr 23, 2025 · Gailey44kI really enjoyed my time here. I only had a couple things on why it's not 5 stars. The store is very small for a KOA, the staff was not as interactive as most KOA I have been to, and my lakeside view was of a dock and boat yard. I am sure there are better spots to pick from, but this was my first visit. I will be back in the future for sure to check out more of the hiking trails. Overall a great place. I will also note the dump station is on a kind of horseshoe road which may be difficult for the larger 5th wheel campers. I will update my review when I go back and explore more!
Nov 28, 2024 · Strive For HappinessThis koa is poorly run and they do not enforce their rules. Campsite next to us had music blasting until 4 am and 15 people partying loudly. Went to the office next morning and they said the people were there for another night and nothing they can do about it. We asked for our money back and they did refund it. This morning they cranked the music again and we're partying before noon. We left not happy. They only have 3 staff members and they never leave the office. No one is monitoring the grounds. Dump station was full of sewage we could not dump our gray. Trash bins totally full.
Jun 01, 2025 · CDThis is one of the best camping places we have been to. Hartwell lakeside KOA has excellent camping options. Great Lake views. Restrooms are clean. Kids play area. Dog park. Variety of sites to fit your camping preferences. The staff is really friendly and provide great service. We have camped here 3 times and always recommend to our friends and family. I would anytime come back and camp here.
Apr 15, 2024 · pankaj goreI wanted to love this campground so desperately. It was the most beautiful and affordable site we've ever camped at, but that's where it ends. We had to park and hike into our site, which we didn't expect. That's why we book with KOA, and not more primitive grounds. Imagine carrying a Yeti down a staircase and across a peninsula to your site, along with your other luggage. Then back to your car again in the early morning. Also, the bathroom was a very long walk from our site, and there was no toilet paper in the entire bathroom this morning. Here I am finding a clean bathroom on the way to my next destination...Lastly, one neighbor site was loud and using excessive profanity, and our other neighbors showed up at 11pm and kept us up off and on until 3am. I know this isn't the campgrounds' fault, but there are usually employees around to shut that behavior down.
