Haleeka Campground Reviews
I have lived here for a year now (with someone else and now in my own camper). The rent is unbeatable. I love how quiet and peaceful it is. The campground sits along Lycoming Creek which is beautiful all year long (even in the winter). It is perfect for fishing and swimming. There is free wifi and cable if you need it. I have no issues with the wifi connection outide or in my camper. I don't have the cable hooked to my tv but that is just my personal preference. The owners have been fantastic to me. They made sure I had a spot to park my vehicle in the winter that didnt require me driving through several feet of snow and possibly getting stuck. And they even offered to help with a water pressure issue. Some people live here year round. Others are just here for a week. It's a great place to live or visit regardless. The neighbors are all friendly. The main house where the owners live also has a guest bathroom on the side of house with two toilets, a sink, and two brand new showers stalls. Its a short walk from all the sites if you need it (I use it for showering).

Excellent dining close by. I travel a lot with my 40’ 50 amp fifth wheel . The access and hookups are very diverse and dependable and easy in and easy out with my large unit is always a plus. I highly recommend this no frills site. Thanks again to the Walbridge’s.
Apr 15, 2018 · Matt MeyerIf you are looking for a quiet place to camp....this is the spot! Very nice campground & close to town! Jul 20, 2019 · Kayla CastilawWe stayed here to attend the Little League World Series in late August 2019. Most of the other places were full by the time we decided to go, so we ended up here by process of elimination.Rob is the son of the elderly owners and we were able to contact him by phone and made a reservation a couple of days in advance. Rob works outside the campground during the day, so there is no on-site management on the premises during the day. He asked us to follow up with him the day we were going to arrive and then again when we were one hour out, so he could arrange for someone to meet us and show us to our site. We did that and were met by Rob’s brother who was visiting, but not actively involved in the campground management. He showed us to our site and we had some concerns about driving through the large puddle of water at the entrance to our site. He explained that they had recently had some rain, but the ground under the puddle was solid compacted gravel. He was right and we drove right into what he called a pull through site. You may be able to pull through, but then you would be in a mowed grass field on your way out and as wet as things have been, we were afraid we would get stuck. We backed out.I found the 50 amp and water and connected without a problem, but I did not see a sewer connection. Our waste tanks were empty, so I didn’t worry about that for the moment. Rob came by a while later and collected the rent. He takes only cash or checks, no cards. He explained that he operated a “honey wagon” for sewage a couple of days a week and we probably wouldn’t even notice when he was there, but our black tank would be emptied. I’ve never had our rig serviced by a "honey wagon" before, but figured it would be OK. We decided to stay a couple more days and we called Rob about that he said that would be fine, just drop the check in the mailslot at the house. I told him our gray tank was nearly full and he said to just flow gray water on the ground using our sewer hoses to get it away from the RV. I knew that was common in boon docking, but had never done that before in a campground before. It worked OK because the sites are a bit bigger than most and there is a large mowed grass area at the back of our site.I needed to receive some packages from Amazon and, because we were going to be out at the LLWS baseball games or running errands most of the day, I wasn’t comfortable having them stack-up on the house’s front porch with no one home. I arranged for the local UPS Store to receive my packages for me for a $5 fee, even though Amazon shipped my order in several packages. That got weird when Amazon shipped USPS for final delivery. USPS attempted delivery of some of the packages on Sunday, but the UPS Store was closed on Sunday. They successfully redelivered Monday morning. This is an older campground with mostly long stay residents, many of whom have accumulated some stuff around their sites. There are a few much older trailers and other RVs which are in really bad shape and do not appear to be regularly occupied. The interior roads are well-packed gravel, but they need some work and have some large pot holes. We had no problems with any of the other residents.Haleeka Campground is what it is. In its present condition it is a 2 star property that I upgraded to 3 stars because of the $30.00 per night cheap rent, which can be further reduced for multiple night stays. That’s less than 50% of what the KOA would have charged and they had no spaces available during the LLWS. We had no problems there and will likely stay there again. On our long RV runs we need some cheap nights to go with the extensive RV resorts to keep the monthly total reasonable.
Aug 29, 2019 · Stephen MillerStopped in at Haleeka Campground to look at relocating from the campground where we have our rv at a perminate site on the Susquehanna River. As we drove into the campground, my wife and I looked at each other, shaking our heads. The place looks run down, junk cars/trucks sitting at some of the sites. The place just looked like a junk yard with trash littering most of the sites. We quick got out of there, and told my wife I would not camp there no matter what. And our look and see, was beginning of Sept.
