- Showers (Quarter-Operated): For your convenience, showers are available on-site. Visitors should remember to bring quarters, as these facilities are not free. This ensures the ongoing maintenance and cleanliness of these amenities.
- Picnic Tables: Each campsite is likely equipped with a picnic table, perfect for outdoor dining and gathering with your group.
- Fire Rings: Designated fire rings are typically available at campsites, allowing for safe and enjoyable campfires, ideal for evening relaxation and cooking.

It is always best to confirm directly with the park for their specific pet policies.
Gualala River Redwood Park truly shines through its unique features and highlights, making it a favored destination for repeat visitors from across California:
- Immersive Redwood Forest Setting: The most significant highlight is undoubtedly the park's location within a magnificent redwood forest. The sheer scale and beauty of these ancient trees create an awe-inspiring atmosphere, providing natural shade and a profound sense of peace. This setting is a primary draw for those seeking a true forest camping experience.
- Family-Friendly Atmosphere with Abundant Activities: Customers consistently praise the park for being a "great park" where "my kids love this place. So much to do without it." This strongly suggests a wealth of on-site activities and opportunities for children and families to engage in outdoor play, exploration, and imagination, fostering a healthy disconnect from screens.
- Digital Detox Opportunity: While some might see limited cell reception (Verizon users note "awful" reception) and potentially inconsistent Wi-Fi (even when purchased) as a drawback, many campers, particularly those returning year after year, view it as a major benefit. It forces a "digital detox," encouraging genuine interaction, outdoor play, and a focus on the natural surroundings. This feature is particularly appealing to parents looking for their children to experience a screen-free vacation.
- Consistent Pleasant Weather in June: A specific highlight noted by a recurring visitor is the "nice weather because I go in June." This suggests that the park's location benefits from pleasant conditions during early summer, making it an ideal time for a visit.
- Loyal Customer Base: The fact that customers are returning for their "3rd year in a row" and recommending it to friends who then return for their "2nd year in a row" speaks volumes about the quality of the experience and the satisfaction of its visitors. This strong word-of-mouth endorsement is a powerful testament to the park's appeal.
- Proximity to Coastal Attractions: While nestled in the redwoods, the park’s location in Gualala means it's also a short distance from the stunning Mendocino Coast. This offers campers the unique opportunity to combine forest adventures with beach outings, tide pooling, and enjoying the rugged beauty of the California coastline.

Gualala River Redwood Park Reviews
Beautiful park, and sites were good size. I have Verizon but reception was awful. If you purchase WiFi it’ll be OK but some of my friends had on and off connections, but maybe it depends on the site.Shower is not free so bring quarters with you.
May 20, 2025 · Atsuko WylieThis is a great park, it will be my 3rd year in a row going. It can be a pain getting there on 1 but it’s well worth it. I recommend this place to friends and they will be back for their 2nd year in a row.

Jul 21, 2024 · Tommy QuinnThis RV Park is 10 star, never mind 5! It is breathtakingly beautiful to be in the trees and feel these giant Redwoods watching over you. The park is immaculate and there is so much attention to detail. The RV sites are spacious and clean. The camp store and coffee truck are worthy of a visit, especially warm waffles with syrup for breakfast! We visited the park at a quiet time so had loads of room on either side of our site. The river view was wonderful! One of the best RV Parks we have ever visited! Highly recommended.
