Green Valley Horse Camp Introduce
For Californians with a love for both the outdoors and their equine companions, Green Valley Horse Camp, nestled within the sprawling beauty of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in Descanso, California, presents an unparalleled opportunity. This specialized campground is designed to cater to horse owners and their families, providing dedicated facilities that make bringing your horses along for a camping adventure both convenient and enjoyable. It's a unique destination where the serene wilderness of San Diego County's backcountry meets the specific needs of the equestrian community, promising unforgettable trail rides and peaceful nights under the stars.
Green Valley Horse Camp isn't just about providing a place to stay; it's about facilitating an immersive experience in nature with your horses. The park boasts thousands of acres of oak woodland forests, meadows, and creeks, all interwoven with an extensive network of trails perfect for horseback riding. While the trails can be challenging and rocky in some areas, they offer stunning vistas and a true sense of adventure. Beyond the equestrian focus, the campground also provides access to family-friendly features like a captivating waterfall, ensuring there's something for everyone in your group to enjoy.
Real customer reviews underscore the campground's appeal and unique offerings. One visitor shared, "We stayed with three horses for 3 nights. The bathrooms & showers were well maintained. The showers are money. The trails were fun, but they were hard to find and very rocky. We had to turn around at one point to not risk our horses getting hurt. The waterfall is very fun and a great way to entertain the kids. Be aware and bring fly spray and bug spray, because there is a ton of bugs. The ground by our campsite, Number 9 & 10, had tons of animal holes that we sunk into and tripped over. On the plus side, I had a blast with the horses. One other thing is you do not need to purchase a whole new campsite if you have more than 2 horses. We made the mistake of getting two campsites because there supposedly was only 2 horses per campsite, but there are overfill stalls. Overall a fun place to get your horses and family out." Another satisfied camper simply stated, "We loved it! Clean, nice camp sites, great facilities and a lot of trails. Our first time. We will definitely be back yo learn all the trails." These insights paint a clear picture of a well-regarded facility that offers a rustic yet accommodating experience for both horses and their human companions.

Nov 13, 2023 · Tina Wright, RealtorWe camped here overnight with three horses, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Campsites were clean and well maintained, bathrooms and showers were very tidy and so nice. The layout is so trailer/horseman friendly and we had a blast on the trails which were well marked, gorgeous, and had incredible viewpoints. We will be back without a doubt
May 08, 2023 · Lauren SalasThis was a wonderful place to bring the horses! LOTS of beautiful trails to explore in the area. The only problems: non-equestrians were allowed to camp in equestrian sites; other campers were allowed to camp in sites that were previously reserved; the sites are short and uneven (bring leveling blocks); if you have a long rig, there are only a few sites that can accommodate you; bring a long hose to get water to your horses. Other than that, I would go back and highly recommend it to others.
Jul 20, 2020 · Stacey HausmanGreat private sites. Not the most level though. Very nice clean bathrooms and showers. Showers require quarters. Water is very hot!
