Location and Accessibility
Grassy Lake Road Campsites are situated in a beautiful area of Wyoming, with the official address listed as Wyoming 83013, USA. This location places it in a region known for its stunning landscapes and proximity to major natural attractions. While the address itself is a general location, the campsites are accessible via Grassy Lake Road, a route that is often a part of a scenic drive. The location is known for its picturesque river views, which are a major draw for visitors.
The campsites offer on-site parking, which is a significant convenience for campers, allowing for easy access to your vehicle and gear. The road leading to the sites is generally accessible, but as with any remote location in Wyoming, it is wise to check for any potential seasonal road closures or conditions before you travel. Accessibility is a key feature, making it relatively easy to get to the sites with both RVs and passenger vehicles. However, it is noted in some reviews that the area's popularity and easy accessibility can lead to frequent vehicle traffic, including cars driving through and turning around in individual campsites. This is a point to consider if peace and quiet are a top priority for your trip.

What is worth choosing
When deciding if Grassy Lake Road Campsites are the right fit for your next Wyoming camping trip, it is important to weigh the pros and cons. On the one hand, the location offers great scenic views and the convenience of both RV and tent sites with amenities like electric hookups and picnic tables. For campers looking for a place with easy access to nature and some basic comforts, this could be a viable option. The beautiful river views and the overall convenience of the location are undeniable highlights. The presence of on-site parking also simplifies logistics, a great benefit for those traveling with a lot of gear.
On the other hand, the experiences of past campers highlight a significant point of consideration. Reviews suggest that the sites can be very busy, with issues related to privacy, noise, and the misuse of amenities by non-campers. The described lack of respect for personal space, with people driving through campsites and using facilities without permission, indicates a less-than-tranquil atmosphere. If you are a camper who values peace, quiet, and a sense of community with fellow campers, the reported issues with overcrowding and lack of privacy might be a trade-off you are not willing to make. It appears that the regulations regarding quiet hours and the number of people and cars per site may not be consistently enforced. This is a critical point to consider, especially for families or those seeking a more private, secluded experience. In conclusion, Grassy Lake Road Campsites are a choice for those who prioritize location and basic amenities, but it is essential to be prepared for a potentially crowded and less private environment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you like peace and quiet, I wouldn’t recommend these sites, people treat them like it’s a park pull off and are constantly just driving through your site day and into the late night, kicking up dust and turning around or stopping to take pictures of the river and trying to come park in your site for the day to use its amenities. Like dropping their trash off in the bins on your site or to use the bathroom like it’s a public one when there are many public ones throughout the park. There seems to be a major lack of respect for others and their privacy in this park. Not sure if it’s all of the foreigner tourists or what but if you’re actually into camping or real dispersed camping, this is not it. The views are great, the location is convenient but the trade off is having random groups that haven’t claimed a site treating it like it’s theirs still. The “respecting your fellow campers” is not prevalent here.
July 25 · SNAKESUnfortunately our experience here was extremely poor. First day, someone stole our campsite and tour down all of our stuff. Second day, a large group came and used the site next to us, they had 4 cars and 10 people on 1 tiny site. They were loud and obnoxious all night, even though there are regulations for quiet hours and only 2 cars per site. The rangers here don’t seem to care or try enforcing posted regulations. Not a very family friendly area as it seemed to be.
July 24 · Chase BirkFREE dispersed campsites in between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. First come first serve. You will have to drive a gravel road to access them and depending on which site you’re able to secure, it could be a long drive. These campsites provide a public restroom with toilet paper, a picnic table and a fire ring. There is plenty of prime firewood laying around the campsite. You just gotta go gather it. We stayed at campsite #1 which has 4 different sites at it. Each campsite can hold a certain number of campers. For these sites to be free, this was probably one of the best campsites I’ve stayed at. Campsite #1 is not a far drive at all and is very close to the nearby lodge and the hot springs. It’s about an hour drive to both Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Not the most convenient location for the national parks but it’s a beautiful place. Especially in the fall when the foliage is golden.
October 02 · Aliza BrownGreat FREE camping in between Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Spots seemed to fill up quickly, we made room for an older couple and their grandson. Sharing is caring!!!!
April 22 · melanie mLots of groups that don’t follow posted regulations. People stealing and overcrowding sites. Unfortunately people are no longer courteous to their fellow campers. This seems to be the new norm at national parks. The services have drastically gone hill in recent years
