I loved this island! The tent sites are up on the hill and have wonderful views. The entire island is covered in raspberries and blue berries, and there is a family of wood ducks who hang out on the shore by the table. The paddle in was pretty easy, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone not used to open water. The landing is on the western side of the island and a little more protected from the wind. - Sarah Morningstar

Location and Accessibility

Grassy Islands South - K9 Campsite is specifically located on an island within Kabetogama Lake, one of the four large interconnected lakes that form the heart of Voyageurs National Park. The official address for the general area is Kabetogama, MN 56669, USA. However, it is crucial to understand that this is a boat-in campsite; there is no road access to the island.
