Gorge Amphitheatre Campground

4.0
This is the most beautiful music venue in the country, and it's a shame that live Nation has sucked the life out of it, with security measures and camping prices that are clearly implemented to force attendees to spend as much money as humanly possible inside the venue. Security is the most authoritarian I have seen at any venue, thinly veiling capitalist extortion as safety measures. Live Nation is destroying the spirit of live music and should be ashamed of themselves. Still had a blast at tipper and friends but won't be returning - Jake biggi

For many Washingtonians, the incredible views and the shared excitement of a Gorge show make the camping experience an unforgettable part of their summer traditions. As we delve deeper, we'll provide you with factual insights into what to expect from the Gorge Amphitheatre Campground, helping you plan your next concert-camping adventure.

Location and Accessibility

The Gorge Amphitheatre Campground is located at 22644 Rd 1 NW, George, WA 98848, USA. This places it in a relatively remote but iconic area of Central Washington, perched on the cliffs overlooking the Columbia River. The campground is directly adjacent to the Gorge Amphitheatre venue, making it the most convenient on-site accommodation option for concert attendees.

For Washington locals, accessing the Gorge Amphitheatre can be a significant journey, typically involving drives from Seattle, Spokane, or other major cities. The campground's address on Road 1 NW is a key entry point, with specific gates assigned for different camping tiers (e.g., Gate D for Standard, Terrace, and Premier Campers). It's important to note that arrival times for major events can lead to substantial traffic delays, with some visitors reporting hours of waiting in line despite early arrival. Planning for these potential delays, especially on peak arrival days, is crucial. While there is no public transportation directly to the Gorge, various private shuttle services operate from nearby towns like Crescent Bar and Moses Lake, offering alternatives to driving directly to the venue. The campground itself is within walking distance to the venue entrance, though distances can vary depending on your specific campsite. Despite the logistical challenges associated with large events, the unparalleled convenience of being on-site for multi-day festivals makes the Gorge Amphitheatre Campground the preferred choice for many Washingtonians attending shows.
