The resort's specific location on Marshburn Circle indicates a dedicated, private community feel. While the exact setup might differ from a typical public campground (as noted in reviews, with many permanent sites), the address points to a well-defined and established resort area. Access within the resort seems straightforward, leading to the various rental spaces, glamping units, and common facilities. This prime location on White Lake makes Gilligans Island Resort Campground a highly desirable spot for North Carolinians seeking a distinctive lake-based recreational experience.
- Short-Term Rental Spaces: While primarily composed of permanent sites, Gilligans Island Resort Campground offers a limited number of rental spaces for temporary stays. Customer reviews indicate there are typically "4 rental spaces," with some located near the road and one potentially waterfront. These spaces often come with full hookups.
- Full Hookups (Water, Electric, Sewer): The nightly rental sites are typically equipped with full hookups, offering 20, 30, and 50 amp electric service, as well as water and sewer connections. This provides maximum convenience for RVers.
- Glamping Unit Rentals: The resort features fully furnished "glamping" campers available for rent. These units offer a more luxurious camping experience, often including amenities like two bedrooms (e.g., bunk beds), a screened-in porch, a grill, Smart TVs, and kitchen essentials. Some may require guests to bring their own linens and toiletries.
- Cottage Rentals: In addition to glamping units, the resort also offers cottage rentals, providing a comfortable, home-like experience with amenities such as king beds, queen air mattresses, air conditioning, electricity, and full kitchens. Some cottages are not pet-friendly.
- The Mansion at Gilligan's Island: For larger groups or families, there's even a "Mansion" rental, featuring multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a private pier, boathouse, charcoal grill, and waterfront deck, offering a premium vacation rental experience.
- Clean Bathhouses: The resort provides well-maintained bathhouses for guest use, ensuring clean restroom and shower facilities.
- Swimming Pool: A significant amenity is the swimming pool, located near the waterfront pavilion, offering a refreshing option for guests, especially during warmer months. Pool hours are typically 10 am to dusk, with clear rules regarding children and wristbands.
- Commercial Pier with Boat and Fishing Access: The resort features a substantial commercial pier, providing excellent access to White Lake for boating, fishing, and enjoying sunsets. Boat docking is also available.
- Clubhouse with Games: There is a clubhouse available for guests, equipped with a pool table, pickleball courts, and cornhole boards, offering indoor and outdoor recreational options.
- WiFi: While WiFi is available onsite in communal areas, guests are sometimes recommended to have a personal hotspot (e.g., Verizon Jetpack) for guaranteed access, especially on premium overnight spots.
- Premier Lakefront Destination on White Lake: Gilligans Island Resort is specifically recognized as a "premier lakefront destination" on White Lake. This clear, naturally spring-fed lake is a significant attraction in itself, offering calm waters ideal for swimming, boating, and various watersports.
- Community-Oriented Atmosphere: Reviews often highlight the "friendly host" and "friendly perm neighbors," suggesting a welcoming and laid-back community feel that sets it apart from more transient campgrounds. This can be a huge draw for those seeking a more social and less isolated camping experience.

- Private Lake Access & Commercial Pier: The resort boasts private lake access, ensuring a less crowded and more exclusive experience on White Lake. The "commercial pier" is a major highlight, offering not just boat access and fishing opportunities but also a fantastic spot for enjoying the lake's scenic beauty and sunsets.

As Gilligans Island Resort Campground has a unique business model that includes permanent sites and various types of rentals (RV, glamping, cottage, mansion), promotions may differ from a typical state park campground. While specific, widely advertised promotions for individual nightly RV sites might be less common due to their limited number, North Carolina residents should explore the following avenues for potential savings or special offers:
- Direct Contact for Availability and Deals: Given the limited number of short-term rental spaces, it's highly recommended to contact Gilligans Island Resort Campground directly via phone or email. They may have unadvertised specials, particularly during off-peak seasons or for last-minute availability on their RV sites, glamping units, or cottages.
- Off-Peak Season Rates: Like most recreational facilities, rates are generally lower during the off-peak seasons (late fall, winter, early spring, excluding holidays). Visiting during these times could provide better pricing and a more serene experience.
- Extended Stay Discounts: For those interested in longer stays, particularly for the glamping units, cottages, or the mansion, the resort may offer weekly or monthly rates that are more economical than nightly bookings. Check their official website or inquire directly. For example, some glamping units might have a minimum stay of one month with associated pricing.
- Follow on Social Media: Many private resorts and campgrounds use social media (e.g., Facebook) to announce flash sales, last-minute cancellations, or special events that might include discounted rates. Searching for "Gilligans Island Resort White Lake" on Facebook is recommended.
- Check Their Website: The official website for Gilligans Island Resort (gilligansislandresort.com) should be the primary source for any publicly advertised specials on their various accommodation types. Look for a "Specials," "Promotions," or "Book Now" section.
- Group Booking Discounts: If planning a family reunion or a larger gathering utilizing multiple rentals or the Mansion, inquire about potential group discounts.
Always confirm any special offers or discounts directly with the resort when making your reservation to ensure eligibility and availability.

A well deserved weekend getaway. Quiet community. Clean bungalow. Very comfortable bed 🛏️❤️. The only "complaint" is the small shower, but I am a big guy. LOL
Mar 23, 2025 · David SechrestThere are 4 rental spaces but not really a campground. 99% of the sites are perm with built in decks. 3 sites near the road and one waterfront. 1-3 near road are close together. Friendly host, friendly perm neighbors. Private lake access, and a club house with pool table, pickleball, and corn hole boards.

They only have. Rv sites for campers but they have permanent sites that are for sale to put a camper on all year round. But you have to level the campground for at least 2 weeks a year. Dec 20, 2024 · jana pecherekI recently stayed at Gilligans Island Resort/Campground, and had an amazing experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth. Our deluxe overnight spot had the best views, easy access to the pool/lake, and even an ice cream shop across the road! The campground is beautifully maintained with spacious sites and plenty of activities near by. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, and relaxing by the pool with the kids.Overall, Gilligans Island exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to return and make more great memories!
Aug 05, 2024 · Jessica AllenWe stayed in one of their glamping sites and the camper had plenty of space, bunk room and living space had room to move around in and the front porch was nice. The AC does need to be replaced and we were told that in advance we just needed to make sure the door stayed shut but it was hot. (Not to have a lot of in and out). We ended up bringing two fans and spending money on two more. The grounds are very nice. Water area nice. Inside pavilion was too hot inside to enjoy during the day and closed early, but looked like a nice place. Pool area looked nice didn’t get a chance to use it. Over all nice quiet campground and our only complaints would be the AC. Kids enjoyed exploring white lake area and swimming at night. We would definitely stay again. 💞
