General Lee Marina & Campground Reviews
The campground is beautiful and the lots are clean. The residents there are very friendly and kind. There is fishing and swimming. These are why I'm giving three stars and that's me being generous with my rating. We were told by phone to pick out any open spot when we got there so we picked out the one we liked best. We had planned to stay a week. On our secon day there, tape was tied across the lots on each side of us and we were told we would have to find another spot by noon that Friday because the spots were all reserved for the weekend, it was Tuesday. We are primitive tent campers, my husband has COPD as a combat veteran from burn pits, and I also have my own disabilities from having strokes, we were already exhausted from setting up our camp area. We decided that we would just leave Friday instead of having to tear down, load up, find another spot, and have to set everything up again for only another three nights. We were disappointed to say it mildly. Thursday afternoon we were told that the reservations had been canceled and we could stay. By then I had already made two trips back home to lessen the tear down time by noon the next day, so we decided to end our trip on Friday still. My advice to everyone is to ask ahead of time if your desired spot is reserved during the time you wish to stay there so you're not disappointed too. Also, Pit mixes of any kind are not welcomed there. I found that out the hard way after leaving camp to come home 21 miles away to get ours that had injured himself getting out of one of our kids windows. He was literally laying down, smiling, not even barking, and just happy to be there when the guy came by and told us he couldn't be there. Also, at the time we stayed there, one of the men's restrooms was closed and this was an inconvenience to my husband. There is a dumpster on site and it was full when we got there. It finally was emptied the day before we left. There are no individual trash containers on each lot so you will have to take your trash to the dumpster.I am not saying that we won't go back but we are looking for better options for our family.

Feb 24, 2025 · mELodyI only went there to give a camping resident a ride to the store. My understanding their camper space is considerable pricey 😯. Thank God I have my own house
