The location of Foster Falls Camp in Max Meadows, VA 24360, USA, is arguably its strongest asset, especially for Virginians eager to explore the heart of Southwest Virginia. This camp is strategically positioned directly on the New River Trail State Park, a 57.5-mile linear park that follows an abandoned railway line along the scenic New River. This means campers have immediate, unparalleled access to one of the state's premier pathways for biking, hiking, and even horseback riding.
For bike packers or those simply enjoying a leisurely ride, the camp's direct trail access is incredibly convenient, offering a perfect overnight stop or a base for multi-day excursions. Foster Falls Camp Reviews
Excellent time camping here with scout troop and biking the trail. Location is gorgeous and quiet. Hard getting tent stakes in the ground here. Wish there were group campsites like other states parks. It's quite expensive and logistically challenging to book for a large group. Restrooms were clean and water source was adequate.
Nov 16, 2023 · Allan BuccolaI’m perfect spot to stop while BikePacking the United States. Arrived at 5 and the super nice Ranger made sure I had a campsite for the night. Very clean and quiet place.
May 06, 2025 · Walk With Cain & Bubblegum Machine StudioThe only issues I have with this location after staying here for more than 20 years is the staff and rangers talking to me every time about my electric pev. I'm well aware of the outdated rules and regulations regarding electric devices of the trail, although it's okay for electric bikes. Update your rules for the modern world we live in. And from someone who stays here regularly, I'd appreciate respect in the campground instead of feeling the need to tell me the rules every time.
Sep 13, 2023 · Damien CarterThe view is not as pretty as the other sections of the f the trail, and the falls are tiny. This area has a boat launch where the falls are. It also has an historic village, and the LOVE sign. It has a small building with restrooms, and plenty of parking spaces it also has a camp store.
Jan 20, 2020 · Tilly LoI LOVE this place. It is a happy place for me. So glad to see they are open fully again. The trails are always well maintained, and the views and grounds are just so pretty.
