Elk River Camp and RV Reviews
It was just after dark and we need a place to stay the night on our return trip home to SC. I found Elk River Camp through a Google search and from the beginning, Mark was friendly, helpful and informative. We were escorted to the second loop to a campsite along the river all the way providing information about the campground and how he came about being the owner (over the phone). The site was gravel and level with picnic table and what appeared to be two fire pits. The campground was clean, quiet, our site provided a large pavilion adorned with LED string lights. Amenities were electric and water (Mark advised pressure regulator is required!) We paid $40. After dinner we settled in and slept like babies. The only suggestion is there were trash cans distributed throughout this loop where a dumpster would have been easier to locate.I didn't notice a bath house or restroom facility and the campground seems to be set up for long term seasonal sites. I noticed that some of the sites have hookups located to the BACK OF THE SITE rather than closer to the middle of the sites...this may pose a problem for those who have short water or shore power lines.I would recommend and return for another stay.
Apr 15, 2025 · Sonya GrantzMark is amazing! The friendliest and most hospitable stranger that I have ever met. We pulled in to the camp around 11pm at night and called the number on the sign and Mark answered, as friendly as ever, like we were old pals and took the time out of his Saturday night to help guide us on the phone the campsite. The nicest stranger I have ever encountered. What a beautiful little spot, quiet, right in the river, dog friendly, with water and electric hookups, all for a super reasonable price! Will definitely be coming back! Thank you so so much Mark!
