Jun 28, 2025 · Tracie BenzingWe stayed a week at Douglas Tailwater Campground. The grounds were nice and right on the French Broad River. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned at least daily and with the cooler temperatures even had heat! Consistent hot water in the shower. The camp hosts were great. I would highly recommend this campground and we would stay again.
Apr 10, 2025 · missy ArmstrongAnother good campground, taken over and made into an RV park. Honestly felt like they did not want tents. (Tva or the owners of the campground.)No good place to set a tent up, and the restroom facilities (the whole reason we booked here, went down on day 2.)The host were very friendly, and understanding. The eye sores of the leds across the street that lit up, kinda sucked from an Rv-er.Bummer, grew up camping here with my grandparents. It’s changed that’s for sure!
May 10, 2025 · Kaley SextonThis campground says it's dog friendly, but that's true only if you have a 10 pound window dog. Lots of Karens in their huge RVs. There was constant car traffic with lookie-loos all day long, Saturday, and Sunday. We stopped counting at 31 by Saturday around 2 pm. Sunday was no different. That included 2 blunt cruisers, people next door with loud old cars working on them, we were told the dogs couldn't swim in the river and they sold us green firewood that wouldn't burn, also, the manager was rude, said our dogs were barking and I told him they were not the only ones barking and he said, "yeah, because you are walking your dogs..." 😕🤷🏼♀️WTF?There were several eagles, heron, and ducks around. Funny how the heron were fishing right in front of our campsite and not a single one of our dogs barked or otherwise scared them or the ducks off. Our dogs are too big to sit in the window of our vehicle, so they were not well received. If you are looking for a genuine camping experience, look elsewhere.RVers who don't leave their RV or those heading into Gatlinburg every day will like it.
