While some reviews suggest a "bare minimum" state park experience, it's essential to understand that Diamond Lakes operates as a regional park campground, focusing on providing fundamental camping services within a larger active park setting. Diamond Lakes Campground is a component of the 286-acre Diamond Lakes Regional Park, managed by Augusta, GA. This means that while the campground itself offers essential services, the true value for visitors often comes from the extensive recreational opportunities available throughout the park. It’s a destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and anglers alike. While recent reviews have pointed out some areas for improvement regarding immediate on-site assistance and bathroom upkeep, the core offering of accessible sites with hookups, coupled with the vast array of park amenities, still makes it a viable option for many Georgia residents. It’s a place that, with a little preparation and understanding of its operational style, can provide a great value and a convenient base for exploring the Hephzibah and Augusta areas, or simply enjoying a range of outdoor activities right at your doorstep.

The accessibility of Diamond Lakes Campground within the regional park is designed for ease of use, especially for RVs. The park features paved sites that are often described as spacious, allowing for relatively easy navigation and setup for various vehicle sizes. Diamond Lakes Campground Reviews
This is a bare minimum state park....very different from other Georgia state parks we've visited. No one was there to greet us. Had to call to get codes to the bathroom, which only 1 worked out of the 4 restrooms. This place works if you don't need to rely on any amenities other than hookups. Bathrooms were pretty dirty with no supplies. We decided to leave early and find another place to stay.
Jun 24, 2025 · PNWI would give this park 5 stars if they would weed eat around the RV park like they do the rest of the amenities. We have stayed here twice prior to this stay and loved it. We loved it this time were it not for the waste high weeds. We have never been given a code to the restrooms so I cannot comment on that and the security gate never closes at night either. I guess that is a good thing because we don’t get that code to renter either.
Aug 12, 2024 · Dennis GillenwaterGreat RV campground with some improvements in progress. No hosts at campground. There is a key pad gate being installed. Reservations handled by the Reserve America app. There are 26 sites with full hookup. Some sites have hookups in the wrong location. I have stayed here 3 times.
Nov 06, 2023 · William HamiltonNice campground, clean, trash cans in front of each site emptied daily, my site 024 full hookup good price. Hot showers, clean grounds
May 22, 2025 · Mark ChrzescianGreat park with full hookups. If you are traveling north/south this is a great easy spot to stop. We got a reservation at 5:00pm on a Saturday night. A definite stop for race fans as the campground is nestled in part of the old Augusta international speedway- great hike around the 3 mile road course.Update: spots 2-9 are not level and you will likely need a good amount of leveling. 10-25 are very level. They have showers but you need a code so we couldn’t get in.
