Deer Wood Campground possesses several key features and highlights that make it a distinctive choice for campers in Pennsylvania. These elements contribute to its unique character and appeal, particularly for those seeking a tranquil and nature-focused getaway.
- Beautiful Natural Setting: The campground is set within a naturally beautiful landscape, offering a serene and picturesque environment. This provides a refreshing escape from urban life and a deep immersion in the tranquility of the woods.
- Secluded Atmosphere: Despite its accessibility, Deer Wood Campground is noted for its quiet and empty atmosphere, particularly during off-peak times. This makes it an ideal destination for those who cherish solitude and wish to avoid overcrowded camping areas.
- Proximity to High Rocks and Tohickon Creek: Its location is a significant highlight for outdoor enthusiasts. Being near High Rocks offers opportunities for rock climbing, challenging hikes, and breathtaking panoramic views of Tohickon Creek, providing exciting activities beyond the campsite itself.
- Variety of Site Types: While some sites are more basic, there are also "very nice" sites available, some even with electric and water hookups, catering to different camping styles and preferences. This allows campers to choose the level of amenity that best suits their needs.
- Focus on Back-to-Basics Camping: The campground encourages a more traditional camping experience, where the focus is on the natural surroundings and the simple joys of outdoor living. This appeals to those looking to truly disconnect and appreciate the wilderness.
- Well-Maintained Grounds: Despite its rustic nature, the overall grounds are noted to be well-maintained, contributing to a pleasant and clean environment for campers.

When considering "Promotions or Special Offers" at Deer Wood Campground, it's important to approach this from the perspective of value rather than traditional discounts. While publicly advertised promotional deals are not readily detailed, the pricing structure, particularly as influenced by the Bucks County Parks Department, is a significant point of discussion among campers. Recent feedback indicates a shift in pricing, with one past camper noting an increase from $15 to $50 a night, while another mentions a $30 per night rate. These varied accounts suggest that while specific "promotions" in the conventional sense (like "buy one night, get one free") might not be common, the overall cost-effectiveness for local users is a key aspect to consider.
The pricing for Bucks County resident family campsites is listed at $25 per day, per site, with non-residents paying $50 per day, per site. Group camping is $5 per day, per person for residents and $10 for non-residents. This tiered pricing system for Bucks County residents can be seen as an ongoing benefit or "special offer" for local taxpayers, making it a more accessible and affordable option for those living within the county. For non-residents, while the price point may be higher, the value lies in the unique, secluded, and natural camping experience offered, particularly given its proximity to significant natural attractions like High Rocks and Tohickon Creek.
Therefore, the primary "promotion" at Deer Wood Campground for many Pennsylvanians, especially those residing in Bucks County, is the potentially more favorable resident pricing structure. It encourages local engagement with and enjoyment of the county's natural resources. We recommend contacting Deer Wood Campground directly to confirm current rates, resident qualifications, and any specific seasonal considerations, as these can impact the overall value of your stay.

Deer Wood Campground Reviews
The place is beautiful and gives joy heartily along to a 5 star rating.... But then incomes the bucks county park's department..... And a campground that used to be fifteen dollars a night Is now fifty dollars a night. With literally no amenity on site but a fire grate. No wonder as I sit here taking a rest from my hike from high rocks that is empty and silent. Shame on these greedy people. Don't they see this campground going to waste?Because they're charging too much?
Aug 12, 2024 · jared stuhltragerThis is a nice campground. It's a little expensive at $30 a night, especially considering some of the sites are very very poor. (Never stay at sites 3,5, or 21) other sites are very nice though.
Sep 25, 2021 · Kyle JamesI have been on this place is realy Nice for family i hope Can make reservation for this july 4
Jun 22, 2023 · Segundo clever Saquisilli mendozaI'm here at the campground and the bathrooms and showers are padlocked shut . The water pump outside are also padlocked. There are porta-potties but they didn't notify me about this when I made my reservations. I picked this Campground because it had showers and bathrooms available. I'm here with my daughter and two grandchildren. Now we have no place to wash up. I'll probably be cutting the camping short. What a waste of money. They least they could have done is sent me an email notifying me of this and giving me the opportunity to cancel my reservations if that was going to be the case.
Jun 24, 2023 · Alicia DanielCan’t get reservations. Website link is broken and the campground page doesn’t tell you anything about how much the campsite cost or how to book it.Phone number isn’t updated either. So we show up on Friday, thinking the place is free since nothing says so otherwise.Finding out from a ranger officer it is 30$ a night. We didn’t have cash( he doesn’t not accept card) so we agreed we will pay on Sunday.Meanwhile during our stay we are getting bullied by other rangers with attitude about us paying the bill. (When they knew we will pay on Sunday) Rangers patrol about 3 times a day if not more. And every single time they stopped at our campsite. On Saturday one of them walked inside our campsite, again asked for payment, and threatened my husband several times, asking for his ID and ran our car’s plates.Completely ruined our trip.
