Cuyuna Range Campground is strategically located at 21704 Dewing Rd, Crosby, MN 56441, USA. This address places it squarely within the heart of the Cuyuna Lakes Area, a region in north-central Minnesota renowned for its unique landscape shaped by former iron ore mining operations, now transformed into a recreational paradise. Crosby is a vibrant town that serves as a central hub for visitors to the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.
For Minnesotans, the accessibility of Cuyuna Range Campground is a key advantage. It is within a short, convenient drive – typically 10-15 minutes – of the nearby cities of Crosby, Cuyuna, Deerwood, Emily, and Ironton. Crucially, the campground is also just a short drive from the entrance to the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, home to its famed mountain biking trails, hiking paths, and mine lakes. This proximity allows campers to quickly reach their desired outdoor activities without extensive travel time. Despite being close to town and some roads, reviews indicate that while there might be "a little road noise," it is generally "tolerable" and the sites offer good privacy, allowing for a mostly peaceful experience. The drive to the campground via Dewing Road is straightforward, accommodating RVs of various sizes, making it an accessible base for exploring one of Minnesota's most exciting outdoor destinations.
Cuyuna Range Campground provides a focused set of services designed to offer a comfortable and self-sufficient camping experience, particularly for RVers. It serves as an excellent "home base" for exploring the world-class Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, known for its extensive mountain biking trails (over 50 miles of singletrack), hiking paths, trout fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and even scuba diving in the unique mine lakes. Cuyuna Range Campground Reviews
My family really enjoyed this campground. There was a little road noise but it was tolerable. Having full hookups and a dumpster on site was also nice. The sites are clean, level and spacious. There's not much to do on the campground itself, but it's only a short drive the the trails and lakes.Overall, we had a great experience. We will definitely be staying here again.
Jul 01, 2025 · Chi YangThis is a no amenity campground. You have a large campsite with a full hookup. You have trees between you and your neighbors. It is small privately owned, self check-in and checkout. Firewood is available for you to get and use the honor pay system for it. A dumpster for your garbage. Come prepared with a long sewer hose because it is all the way in the back of the site.
Jun 03, 2025 · Lucinda DunbarWe absolutely loved our stay at Cuyuna Range Campground! It’s a quiet space to kick your feet up and relax after spending the day biking or kayaking the mine lakes! Dan and Angela are amazingly responsive and helpful if you need something. Firewood is accessible and there are SO MANY things to see and within an easy 30 minute drive. We hope to come back again for another wonderful vacation! This campground is truly a gem.
Jul 28, 2024 · Alyssa GardnerCutuna range campground has excellent sites for RVs only. Full hookups, reasonable prices and pretty close to the trails and Crosby North Dakota. I was there mainly for mountain biking, but drove through the town, which was adorable. Had some really cool restaurants. The town had a really cool mix of vocals and hipsters that looks like it helps the economic side of Crosby. It really looked as if the population embraces mountain biking, and fishing in this region I can’t wait to go back.
Jun 17, 2025 · Aaron SmithWe enjoyed our weekend stay immensely! Absolutely dead quiet at night, we could hear the wolves howling. You can hear the highway during the day, little more noise than I expected. But did not degrade the experience, the sites are absolutely HUGE! The driveway/parking pads are not angled however, so you may have to nudge into your neighbors site across from you to get well situated depending on the size of your rig. The only major complaint, and it's so small, is the fire pit ring isn't buried. So when you are sitting around it at night, you can barely see it unless it's absolutely raging. Which also means the heat only gets you from your shoulders up. So we had cold legs and hot faces. But again, this is just feedback for a brand new campground that is clearly going to be a staple in the community. Will absolutely book again. I should also mention that the owners were incredibly accommodating when we had a last minute reschedule due to a family emergency, they helped us figure out our options for moving dates with grace and great customer service.
