Corral Creek Campground Introduce
For Washingtonians who cherish lakeside tranquility, stunning views, and the unique charm of a boat-in accessible destination, Corral Creek Campground on Lake Chelan offers an exceptional experience. Nestled within the beautiful Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest near Entiat, this campground is a beloved retreat for those seeking to escape the ordinary and immerse themselves in the natural splendor of Central Washington. While some might arrive for just a day to soak in the serene atmosphere, the true magic of Corral Creek unfolds for those who stay to enjoy its secluded campsites and direct access to one of Washington's most iconic lakes.
Corral Creek Campground provides a more rustic, yet incredibly rewarding, camping experience. It’s a place where the sounds of the lake and the rustling leaves replace the clamor of city life, and where the clear waters invite you to swim, fish, or simply relax by the shore. The sense of adventure in reaching it by boat adds to its allure, making every visit feel like a special journey into a pristine natural haven.
Corral Creek Campground is located at NF-112, Entiat, WA 98822, USA. This places it directly on the shores of the magnificent Lake Chelan, within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Its specific location dictates its primary mode of access, making it a distinctive destination in Washington's outdoor recreation landscape.
Unlike many campgrounds that are directly accessible by car, Corral Creek Campground is primarily a boat-in campground. This means visitors will typically launch their boats from a public access point further down Lake Chelan (such as Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park near Chelan) and navigate up-lake to the campground. The journey by boat itself is a scenic adventure, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the long, deep waters of Lake Chelan.
For those without a private boat, there might be options to utilize the Lady of the Lake ferry service which travels up and down Lake Chelan, disembarking at various points, though it's essential to confirm if a specific stop or water taxi service is available to Corral Creek. The remoteness implied by its boat-in access means that while it's a "gorgeous spot," visitors should be prepared with all necessary supplies as there are no nearby stores or services once at the campground. This contributes to its secluded and peaceful atmosphere, highly valued by those seeking a true escape.
Boat Dock Facilities: A significant advantage for this boat-in campground is its "excellent dock with space for about 4 boats," as noted by a reviewer. This provides convenient and safe mooring for visitors' vessels.
Campsites with Basic Amenities: Corral Creek offers 4 tent sites, each equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit/fire ring. These amenities provide a comfortable base for outdoor living and cooking (always check for current fire restrictions).
Vault Toilet: The campground provides a well-maintained vault toilet, offering basic but crucial sanitation facilities for campers.
Bear-Safe Food Storage: Although one older review mentioned a lack of bear boxes, more recent information and common practice in bear country like the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest strongly suggest that bear-resistant food storage is either available (e.g., bear boxes) or highly recommended (e.g., storing food in hard-sided vehicles or bear canisters). Given the prevalence of bears, proper food storage is paramount for safety.
Day-Use Access: While ideal for overnight camping, the campground is also popular for day use, suggesting picnic areas and access to the lake even for those not staying overnight.
No Potable Water: It is crucial for visitors to note that potable water is generally NOT available at this site. Campers must pack in all their drinking water or be prepared to filter and treat water from Lake Chelan.
No Garbage Service: As a relatively primitive site, garbage service is typically not provided. Visitors are expected to practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all trash and waste.
Stunning Lake Chelan Views and Access: The prime feature is its direct access to and views of Lake Chelan. The campground offers good protection from down-lake winds, enhancing the lakeside experience.
Excellent Boating Opportunities: With a dedicated dock, Corral Creek is a paradise for boaters, allowing easy access for fishing, exploring the lake, or simply enjoying time on the water.
Fantastic Campsites: Reviews praise the "fantastic campsites" which are well-suited for tents and offer a comfortable setting amidst nature. Sites are reportedly well-spaced, contributing to a sense of privacy.
Secluded and Peaceful Atmosphere: The boat-in accessibility ensures fewer crowds and a more tranquil camping experience compared to drive-up campgrounds, making it ideal for those seeking solitude.
Wildlife Viewing Opportunities: Being in a national forest, the area offers opportunities for wildlife viewing. As noted by a reviewer, encounters with wildlife, including bears, are possible, emphasizing the wild nature of the location.
Fishing Opportunities: Lake Chelan is renowned for its excellent fishing, and campers at Corral Creek have prime access to these waters, providing a great activity for anglers.
"Gorgeous Spot": Consistent with visitor reviews, the natural beauty of Corral Creek Campground and its surroundings is a significant draw, offering a picturesque backdrop for any outdoor adventure.

Corral Creek Campground Reviews
A lot of people come here just for the day. We camped here four years ago, and out of the 4 spots, it didn't have a bear box. We kept our cooler in the boat. We had a bear come down at night, thank God we had our dogs that scared it off. It's a gorgeous spot.
